Woman is Deat at 98 Mrs. Wilhelmina Daube Succumbed to Hemorrhage Sunday Night Mrs. Wilhelmina Daube, 98 year old resident of Loose Creek died at her home there this morning from a cerrebreal(sic) hemorrhage suffered Sunday night. Mrs. Daube was born in the Province of Westphalia, Germany, October 19, 1842. She emigrated with her parents to the Westphalia community where they settled on a farm when she was a child of 8 years. When she reached the age of 18 years she went to Loose Creek. Mrs. Daube was married three times, her first husband was Hermann Sonnen of Loose Creek, whom she married at Loose Creek at the age of 22. After his death she married George Meuhling and following his death she was married to her last husband August Daube, who preceded her in death a few years ago. She is survived by 5 children, Mrs. Johanna Schrader, Mrs. Lizzie Waggoner, and Mrs. Katy Pfaff all of Loose Creek, Mrs. Josie Engelman of Chicago, Ill., and Justine Daube of the state of California. One son, Jake Daube, died about 5 years ago and a daughter, Mrs. John Lock died about 20 years ago. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mrs. Daube had lived in the same house in Loose Creek since she was a girl of 18, a little over three quarters of a century. She and her husband, Herman Sonnen were operating a general store in two room of this house during the Civil War and she often related the story of the time that the Rebels came through and took all the merchandise and clothing that they had in stock.
