Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1944: "Mrs. Anna M. Crede, 73, prominent Westphalia church woman died at the family home near Westphalia early Sunday morning. (February 1944). She had been ill several weeks. Mrs. Crede was born and reared in the Westphalia community and spent her entire life there. Her husband, John W. Crede preceded her in death a number of years ago. She is survived by the following children: Tillie Crede of the home; Aloys Crede and Mrs. William Willibrand, West Clasco; Sister M. Etheline of the Order of St. Mary's at Arcadia; and Adolph, Victor and Clarence Crede of Westphalia; Rudolph of the U. S. Navy at Oakland, California. She is also survived by four brothers and two sisters; Rev. Aug. Fechtel and Miss Angeline Fechtel, West Alton, Missouri; Casper Fechtel, Jacksonville, Fla.; Henry of McAllister, Okla.; John Fechtel of Westphalia; and Sister M. Bernolda of the order of Notre Dame School Sisters, St. Louis."
