Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1967: " Harold Lewis Day, son of the late John H. and Georgia Hensley Day, and husband, of Shirleen Day, was born at Chamois, Mo., on the 29th of October 1921, and departed this life at Chamois Tuesday morning, March 22, 1967 reaching the ager of 45 years, 4 months and 23 days. Mr. Day spent most of his adult life in the U. S. Army, retiring about two years ago with over twenty years service. Survivors are his wife, Shirleen, one daughter, Karen Sue Bender of Columbus, Georgia; one granddaughter, Melanie; one sister, Mrs. Delpha Wild of Sedalia,Mo.; and two brothers, Marian and Roy of Chamois; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Meyer Funeral Home in Chamois by the Rev. Marvin Hockenhull. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery. Grave side military service was by the Chamois American Legion, Post No. 506."
