Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1971: Mrs. F. W. Day Passes Away "Usefulness to her townspeople, through her love of staying busy, was the virtue extolled by Rev. A. J. Grellner in Chamois January 9 (1971) at the funeral service of Mrs. F. W. Day. Mrs. Day died of a heart condition on January 6 (1971) in St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City only four days after being admitted. Born Mary Louise Day, April 13, 1887 in Frankenstein, Mo., she was the daughter of Louis and Anna Ley. She came to Chamois in 1903 and established a lifelong residence in the town along the Missouri River. She was married in 1907 to F. W. "Sandy" Day, who preceded her in death in 1963. Two children, Fred G. Day and Mrs. Margaret David, also preceded her in death in 1939 and 1962. Mrs. Day leaves two sons, William E. Day, District 8 Maintenance Engineer of the Missouri State Highway Department at Springfield, and R. P. Day, Industrial Editor of La Canada, California, their families and a host of neighbors and friends. Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. Grellner in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic church in chamois, where she and Mr. Day were married and she where she had been a lifelong member. Interment was in Chamois Cemetery."
