He was born Dec. 13, 1914, at Linn, the son of Antone and Etta Duncan Balkenbush. He was married in Loose Creek to Katherine Ruettgers, who survives at the home. Mr. Balkenbush was raised in Linn and attended elementary and high school here. He moved to New Mexico about 10 years ago. Other survivors include: three sons, Donald Balkenbush, Gill Air force Base, Utah; James Balkenbush, Gallup, N. M.; and Bill Balkenbush, Las Cruces, N. M.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Smith, Topeka, Kan.; and one grandson. Graveside services were held Saturday at the Linn Cemetery under the direction of Morton Funeral Home. The Rev. W. T. Froggate officiated."

Her husband, Gaylord Boyce, preceded her in death in 1960. Surviving are five sons and four daughters. The Boyce family lived in Osage County near Linn a number of years where the children attended school and will be remembered by area residents. Funeral services were held at Jefferson City Wednesday."

Funeral services were held Friday in Campbell-Lewis Chapel with Rev. Troy Slagle officiating. Military services and burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery. Mr. Bacon was born in Linn on December 12, 1890, the son of Joseph Taylor Bacon and Jolcy Glover Bacon. He was married April 1, 1920, in Marshall to Louis (e sp?) Williams, who preceded him in death on March 10, 1956. He had lived in Marshall 42 years and was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are ten children; Mrs. Ruth Myers, St. Louis; Mrs. Betty Drake, Mrs. Jolcy Riley, Mrs. Jewell Smith, Mrs. Nora Brame, and John Bacon, all of Marshall; Mrs. Lucille Utlaut, Malta Bend; Mrs. Fern Vogel, Gladstone, Mrs. Linda Harper, Columbia; Mrs. Wilma Jones, Sweet Springs; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Pauline Laughlin, Jefferson City."

Mr. Boehmer was born Jan. 17, 1926 at Rich Fountain, the son of Frank and Bernadine Haller Boehmer. he was married Feb. 17, 1948 at Rich Fountain to the former Miss Marie Haller, who survives at the home. Mr. Boehmer was employed at QuakerWindow Products of Freeburg for 20 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg; the married men's Sodality, the Western Catholic Union, the American Legion Post, Freeburg. He was a World War II Army veteran. Other survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Delores White, Rolla; Mrs. Betty Dickneite and Miss Bonnie Boehmer, both of Freeburg; two brothers, Sylvester Boehmer, Jefferson City; and Andrew Boehmer, Waterloo, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Welschmeyer, Freeburg; and Mrs. Catherine Haller, Rich Fountain; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sat., Aug. 14, at the Holy Family Catholic church in Freeburg with Rev. Hugh Behan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Birmingham-martin Funeral Home of Vienna."

Mr. Boehmer was a leading farmer of the Rich Fountain community and had been a widower 16 years. His wife was Miss Bernadine Haller. Surviving him are three sons: Louis, serving with the armed forces in Japan; Sylvester in the Navy in Guam; and Andrew at home. His son, Stephen Jos. was killed in Italy in 1944. Two daughters are left: Marie at home, and Mrs. Frank Haller of Rich Fountain."

Mr. Bourgeret was a retired farmer and stockraiser. He was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of the Latter Day Saints, Linn, and of the Linn Masonic Lodge, which he served as a past master. Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Mary Jane) Ladage, Florissant; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Linn, with the Rev. Charles Smith and Bill Cartmill officiating. Masonic services were held at the graveside in the RLDS cemetery."

Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Help Catholic Church at Frankenstein Saturday with Rev. Patrick McMyler officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery at Frankenstein."

Mr. Backes was born Feb. 29, 1912 in Frankenstein, the son of Henry and Annie L. Kluth Backes. He was married on June 13, 1939 in Jefferson City to the former Viola W. Jaegers, who survives. Mr. Backes was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek and active in church and civic affairs. Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Williams, Loose Creek; and Mrs. Gerry Stratman, Sedalia; four sisters, Mrs. Theresa Haslag and Mrs. Josephine Haslag, both of Loose Creek; Mrs. Catherine Schaefer, Jefferson City; and Mrs. Bertha Jaegers, Linn; a brother, Fred Backes, St., New Haven; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek, with the Rev. Kevin Gormley officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."

    3. Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1975: "Mrs. Elizabeth Bathe died Wed., Sept. 17, 1975 at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 93 years. Mrs. Bathe was born Nov. 28, 1882 at Argyle, Mo., the daughter of Stephen and Anna A. Hagenhoff Brunnert. In August 1907, she was married to George H. Bathe, who died Sept. 11, 1933. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality at Argyle. For the past four years she had made her home with her daughter in St. Ann. She is survived by four children; one daughter, Tess; three sons, Martin, Harry and Andrew, all of St. Louis. One daughter, Rose Schulte and one son, John, preceded her in death. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at St. Kevin's Catholic church in St. Ann. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis."

    3. Obit., 1975, mid-Missouri newspaper: " Funeral services for Mrs. Rhonda Weber Barber were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sedalia Thursday, Sept. 18, 1975. Mrs. Barber was killed in a plane accident in Alaska the previous week. She was 20 years old. Born October 11, 1954, at Linn, she was a daughter of James and Frieda Reinkemeyer Weber, former Linn residents. On June 15, 1974, she was married to Kenneth Barber, a native Californian, stationed in Alaska with the U. S. Air Force. He survives. Other survivors include her parents of Sedalia; one sister, Karen Sue Weber, and one brother, Jimmy Ray Weber, both of the home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Weber and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reinkemeyer, Linn. Mrs. Barber had been employed with the Parks Department in Alaska for three years. She was one of seven killed in the plane crash that occurred on a mountain there. Cause of the crash was not learned."

He was born May 2, 1921 at St. Aubert, the son of H. O. and Ina Wilson Barbarick, both of whom survive. He was married Nov. 22, 1944, at Frankenstein to Lorene Brandt, who were later divorced. Mr. Barbarick was a member of the Chamois post of the American Legion. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Bellville, DeSoto; Mrs. Linda Engelhardt, St. Louis; and Mrs.. Rhonda Winkler, Arnold; two brothers, Wilbur Barbarick, New Haven; and Donald Barbarick, Washington; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Morton Chapel, Chamois, with Bro. John Lyons officiating. Burial was in the St. Aubert Cemetery near Chamois. Military rites were conducted by the Chamois post of the American Legion.

He was employed as a barber in Jefferson City for many years before his retirement. Survivors include: one brother, Gerhard Bolten, Loose Creek; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Jones, Kansas City; Funeral services were held Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Cronin officiating. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Jefferson City."

Born August 19, 1912, he was the son of Frank and Catherine Schaefer Bescheinen. On April 3, 1945, he was married to Miss Katherine J. Backes at Loose Creek. She preceded him in death a year ago. Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. David Bish, Mrs. Carl Kixmueller and Miss Cathy Bescheinen, all of Linn; and Mrs. Martin Riegel, Loose Creek. There are three sisters and one brother surviving: Mrs. Louise Backes, Bonnots Mill; Mrs. Anna Schaefer and Mrs. Margaret Kliethermes, Loose Creek, and Hubert Bescheinen, Loose Creek, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Gormley officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery."

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church where services were held Thursday with the Rev. Jos. Lawlor officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. He was a member of the Freeburg American Legion post and the Married Men's Sodality. He served in the United States Army during World War I. Other survivors include; two son, Ray Brendel, Freeburg, and Anthony Brendel, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs. Christine Wallace, Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Carol Koltenborn, St. Louis; one brother, Louis Brendel, Freeburg, one sister, Mrs. Herman Wolfgum, Vienna; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren."

Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper -June 1975: " Clarence Brandt Dies At Home In Chamois" " Mr. Clarence Peter Brandt, the son of the late Casper Brandt and his wife, Mary, nee Nilges, was born near Linn, January 12, 1911 and died at his home near Chamois reaching the age of 64 years, 5 months and 9 days. Mr. Brandt attended school at Frankenstein and in 1942 was married to Miss Jewell Staley. He was a farmer and livestock raiser in the Linn and Chamois area all of his life except for about six years that he farmed in Callaway County. Surviving besides his wife Jewell are four children. They are: Mrs. Linda Walters, Columbia; Delmar of Jefferson City; Joe Brandt and John Brandt, both of Chamois; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Norbert Brandt, state of Texas; Herman Brandt, state of Maryland; and Cletus Brandt of Edwards, Mo. Eight sisters, Mrs. Martha Wolfe; Mrs. Benelda Kiecksee, Mrs. Generose Hayes, all of Jefferson City; Mrs. Lillian Mertens and Mrs. Mary Ann Masters, both of Linn; Mrs. Marina Woolsey, Edgeton; Mrs. Lorene Lehen, St. Louis; and Mrs. Roseline Staley of Chamois. After resting at the Meyer Funeral Home in Chamois, funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 24, 1975, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Chamois, with interment in the parish cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Brockel officiating."

She was born Dec. 12, 1893, at Linn, the daughter of Pete and Mary Jane Turner Vaughan. On Oct. 26, 1914, she was married to William W. Bauer at Linn. He died Nov. 6, 1957. Mrs. Bauer was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church of Chamois and a member of the WSCS Guild at the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was active in civic and fraternal organizations in the Chamois area. Mrs. Bauer and her husband operated a hardware store in Chamois for more than 40 years. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs.. Elanora Kaullen, Chamois; and Mrs. Lorene Gaertner, Wentzville; one brother, Allan Vaughan, Linn; one sister, Miss Myrtle Vaughan, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Chamois with the Rev. Art Reed officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery near Chamois."

Born October 30, 1907, he was the son of William Thomas and Dora Florence Nichols Ball. On Nov. 8, 1948, he was married to Pearl V. Valentine. She died in 1962 at Des Moines, Iowa. Survivors include: three brothers, George Ball, Bonnots Mill; Wm. Ray Ball, Hannibal; and Robert Ball, Kansas City; six sisters, Mrs. Rita Groves, Tulsa, Okla.; Miss Mary and Miss Violet Ball, Bonnots Mill; Mrs. Flora Smith, Linn; Mrs. Nellie Smith, Jefferson City; and Mrs. Anna Bell Lietzow, Sedalia. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Morton's Chapel in Linn with Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial will be tomorrow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Des Moines, Iowa."
