obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1970: "Mrs. Eulalia Jane Curtiss, 77, of Linn, died Sunday morning at her home (December 1970). Mrs. Curtiss was born Nov. 1, 1893 at Belleville, Kans., the daughter of Alpues and Amilia Becker Haines. She was married Oct. 16, 1916, at Kansas City, to Allan A. Curtiss, who survives. Mrs. Curtiss and her husband have operated the Home Furnishing Co., Linn for more than 15 years. A Linn resident for 35 years, she was active in the St. John's Methodist Church and was a charter member of Women's Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Curtiss was also a charter member of the Linn Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a Gold Star Mother. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Harold Starr, Linn; a brother, George Haines, Sunnydale, Calif.; two sisters, Miss Edna Haines, Kansas City, and Mrs. Ethel Moree, Belleville, Kansas; and three grandchildren. One son, Allen, Jr. preceded his mother in death. He was killed serving his country inn World War II. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 22, at St. John's Methodist Church, Linn, with the Rev. Glenn Mangam officiating. VFW Auxiliary services were held at the Morton Chapel Monday evening. Burial was in Linn Public Cemetery."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1972: " Joseph Cramer, 70, of near Chamois, died Tuesday,, Nov. 7, at Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital in Columbia after several years of illness. He was 70 years, 2 months and 20 days of age. Mr. Cramer was born August 17, 1902, the son of Peter and Denie Whithouse Cramer in the Dodds community. He was educated at the Dodds School. Throughout his life, Mr. Cramer remained in that area. He was a farmer and also did custom threshing and sawing in lumber. He was married February 11, 1932 in Linn to Clara Benson of Gasconade, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and two daughters: Bill of Montgomery, Ala.; Kenneth of the home; Shirley (Mrs. Wayne Bracken) of Caseyville, Ill.; and Carol (Mrs. Bob Walling) of Star Route, Chamois. There are four grandchildren. Two brothers, Floyd and Victor, both of Morrison and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Ocheskey of Morrison and Hilda (Mrs. Elliott Reynolds) of Chamois. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Meyer Funeral Home of Chamois. Eugene McMahon, minister of the Oklahoma Church of Christ, Star Route, Chamois officiated."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974: " Mrs. Addie Clark, widow of the late Rhey Clark, of Linn died at a nursing home in Bluffton, Ohio late Monday night. ( 18 February 1974). She was 73 years old. Funeral services will be held at the Morton Chapel in Linn Friday afternoon with Rev. Eugene McMahon and Rev. Elmer Watley officiating. Burial will be in the Linn Memorial Park. Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 21, 1900 in St. James, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greenville Hawkins. She was married April 3, 1922 at Vienna to J. Rhey Clark. He died Feb. 14, 1972. Surviving are two children, a son, Gary R. Clark of Bluffton, Ohio and a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Wilma) Parenteau of Humbolt, Tenn.. and four grandchildren. There is one sister, Mrs. Beulah Walker, Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Linn Chapter OES who will conduct services at Morton's Chapel. She had served as past matron and secretary of the chapter. A member of the Oklahoma Church of Christ, she resided in the Linn area since 1922. She attended St. James Public School and State Teachers College in Warrensburg."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1974: " Lloyd Earl Coffelt, 79 of near Linn, died Friday, April 26, (1974) at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. Mr. Coffelt was born on Aug. 29, 1894, at Mint Hill, the son of Alexander and Rachel Simpson Coffelt. He was a retired farm worker in the Linn area. He was a lifelong member of the Mint Hill Community Baptist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Morton Funeral Chapel, Linn, with the Rev. James Minor officiating. Burial was in the Shirley Cemetery near Chamois. Mortons Service was in charge of arrangements."

She had been ill several weeks. Mrs. Crede was born and reared in the Westphalia community and spent her entire life there. Her husband, John W. Crede preceded her in death a number of years ago. She is survived by the following children: Tillie Crede of the home; Aloys Crede and Mrs. William Willibrand, West Clasco; Sister M. Etheline of the Order of St. Mary's at Arcadia; and Adolph, Victor and Clarence Crede of Westphalia; Rudolph of the U. S. Navy at Oakland, California. She is also survived by four brothers and two sisters; Rev. Aug. Fechtel and Miss Angeline Fechtel, West Alton, Missouri; Casper Fechtel, Jacksonville, Fla.; Henry of McAllister, Okla.; John Fechtel of Westphalia; and Sister M. Bernolda of the order of Notre Dame School Sisters, St. Louis."

Mr. Connell was born April 29, 1915, at Marion, the son of the late George E. and Ora Bell Allen Connell. He was married March 17, 1934, at Westphalia to the former Hazel Robertson, who survives at the home. Other survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Ronnie McDaniel, Fulton; Mrs. Fred Seaman, Jefferson City; and Mrs. Keven Keefe, San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Buescher Memorial Home Chapel. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery, Marion."
>From Our Files, mid-Missouri newspaper: Thursday, August 14, 1931: (error - s/b 1941) " Loose Creek's and perhaps Osage County's oldest citizen, Mrs. Wilhelmina Daube, 98, died at her home in Loose Creek, Wednesday morning after an illness of two days. Mrs. Daube was born in Westphalia, Germany, October 19, 1842 and came to Westphalia, Missouri at the age of 8. She moved to Loose Creek when she was 18 and had lived there ever since. In 1864, she was married to her first husband, Herman Sonnen. She was married to her third husband, August Daube many years ago. He died in recent years. Survivors are five children. Mrs. Daube had lived in the same Loose Creek house since she was 18 years old. She had conducted a boarding house in Loose Creek for many years. A love long member of the Catholic Church, funeral services are set for Saturday morning at 9 am, August 16, 1941." FYI - Wilhelmina (Rehagen) Daube was b. Sudhagen, Westfalen, Germany, d/o Stephen George Rehagen and Anna Maria Angela Welmers. Wilhelmina Rehagen was m. (1) 27 Jan 1863 to Herman Paul Sonnen, d. 1878. She was m. (2) 12 Aug 1879 to George Muehling, d. 1882. She m. (3) 22 Sep 1885 to Gustav Alphonse Daube, d. 1920). Wilhelmina had a total of 13 children from all 3 husbands.
Obit., 1972 - mid-Missouri newspaper: " Mary M. Dallmeyer (nee Mersmann) of St. Charles died Monday, April 17 (1972) at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Dallmeyer was married to the late Anthony P. "Tony" Dallmeyer. Survivors include: Mrs. John H. (Mildred J.) Bredensteiner, Mrs. James (Dorothy E.) Deveny, Mrs. Arthur (Frances M. ) Wilson and Mrs. Martin (Mary Ann) Gentges of Loose Creek. Funeral services will be held today (April 20) from the Dallmeyer Funeral Home, St. Charles, to St. Peter's Church where a requiem mass will be at 10 am. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dallmeyer was a member of St. Ann's Sodality of St. Peter's Catholic Church; St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Carmelite Auxiliary and 49ers of St. Peter's Church."

Funeral services were held at the Meyer Funeral Home in Chamois Sunday ( 16 January 1977). Burial was in the cemetery there. He was a son of the late Ed and Georgia Day of Chamois. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Delpha Wiles of Sedalia; a daughter, Susie Hall of Alabama and three nieces. Three brothers, Harold, Happy and Frank Day preceded him in death."

Robinson, both of Linn; four sisters, Mrs. Etta Craig, Hazelwood; Mrs. Lucinda Gelven, Linn; Mrs. Margie Crabtree, Jefferson City, and Mrs. Lorraine Cox, Owensville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Morton Funeral Chapel, Linn, Tuesday wit Rev. Leo Hillman officiating. Burial was in the Shirley Cemetery near Chamois."

Mr. Curley was born mar. 35, 1898 near Linn, the son of Robert G. and Lydia Mantle Curley. On Jan. 16, 1921, he was married at Linn to the former Miss Mabel Mahon, who died Dec. 27, 1942. On May 16, 1953, he was married at Linn to the former Miss Lucille Robinson, who survives at the home. He was a lifelong member of the Fairview Church of Christ near Linn. He had been a member more than 50 years of the Linn Masonic Lodge. he had engaged in clay mining, farming and stock raising. Other survivors include: 3 daughters, Mrs. Reuben Bock, Linn; Mrs. Harry Jannick and Mrs. Harold F. Schneider, both of Jefferson City; two sisters, Miss Alta Curley and Mrs. William Rudy, both of Jefferson City; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday at Morton Chapel. Brother Eugene McMahon officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery."

Survivors include nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at the Morton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elmer Althoff officiating. Burial was in the Verdot Cemetery, Bonnots Mill."

Richard Cronin will conduct the funeral for Mrs. Nilges, who died Sunday ( 7 Feb 1999) at a Springfield hospital, with burial in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Nilges was born Aug 4, 1917 at Loose Creek to Joseph H. (Herman) Grefrath and the former Teresa Cremer. She was married Oct 19, 1939 at Loose Creek to August Hugo Nilges, Jr., who died Dec 25, 1977. A homemaker, she attended Immaculate Conception School in Loose Creek. She had worked as a seamstress for Linn Manufacturing Co. and Oberman's pants factory in Jefferson City, where she worked for McGraw-Edison Appliance Co.She was a member of Immaculate Conception parish. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Pat) Schultz (Patricia Nilges) of Harrison; two brothers, Herbert Adolph Grefrath of Linn and Edmund Frank Grefrath of Boulder, CO; a sister, Rita Conradina Grefrath Kliethermes of Lake Forrest, Minnesota. A son, August P. "Skip" Nilges, died Apr 23 of last year. She also was preceded in death by four other brothers, Bernard Gustave, Raymond Jacob, Joseph August, and Norbert Henry Grefrath; and another sister, Mrs. Joe (Mary) Haslag.

According to the Osage County Coroner Clyde Morton, the young man and his father, John Boessen, were cultivating corn on the island north of Osage City. Pat was refueling the diesel engine following lunch, when it somehow went into gear, throwing him to the ground and moved over his body. An ambulance was summoned immediately on C. B. radio by an electric crew at work near the scene of the accident but the young man died instantly. His father was treated for shock at the hospital and released several hours later. > The mishap occurred at approximately 1 p.m.. Adding to the tragedy of the even was the fact the Boessen was married only 12 days before to Miss Christy Saucier at the Taos Catholic Church. They had built a new home near Loose Creek. > Mr. Boessen was born may 26, 1954 in Jefferson City, the son of John P. and Melba Davis Boessen. Both survive. He was married may 15, 1976 at Taos to Miss Christy Saucier, who survives of the home. > Other survivors include; four brothers, Michael Boessen, Kenneth Boessen, John Boessen, Jr., and Christian Boessen, all of Loose Creek; and four sisters, Mrs. Linda Ricks, Macon; Miss Carolyn Boessen and Miss Kathleen Boessen, both of Jefferson City; and Miss Melody Boessen of Loose Creek. > Mr. Boessen was a graduate of Immaculate Conception grade school in Loose Creek, a 1972 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia; and a graduate of Bailey Tech College, St. Louis. > He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the Immaculate Conception Church, loose Creek, and a member of the Loose Creek Community Park Association. He was secretary of the Osage Baseball League and also managed the Loose Creek baseball team. Obit., Unterrified Democrat - In The U.D. 40 years Ago - June 20, 1933: "George Cavender, known to many as "Sandy" departed this life suddenly Wednesday morning at about 11 o'clock at his home on the courthouse square. he was 59 years of age and leaves his widow, Mrs. Ellen Cavender, his sons: Dudley, Tommy, William, Raymond and a daughter, Gertie; his brother, John, and many friends and relatives. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Linn this morning. Rev.J. W. Winton preached the funeral sermon after which the remains were conveyed to the Mt. Ariel Cemetery to be laid to rest besides numerous of his relatives who have passed away."
