Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1971: " Peter Dudenhoeffer, 72, a retired farmer and stock raiser of Freeburg, died Saturday ( May 1, 1971) at Jefferson City hospital where he had been a patient for several days. A native of Frankenstein, Mr. Dudenhoeffer was born Nov. 13, 1898, the son of Joseph and Mary Koenigsfeld Dudenhoeffer. On Oct. 5, 1921, at Linn, he was married to the former Miss Margaret Rinkemeyer (sp?), who survives. Other survivors include: four sons, Ignatius (Bud) Dudenhoeffer, Jefferson City; and Raymond Dudenhoeffer, Philip Dudenhoeffer, and Huber (sp?) Dudenhoeffer, all of Freeburg; one daughter, Mrs. Norbert Frank, Wardsville; Five brothers, Paul Dudenhoeffer, Frankenstein; August Dudenhoeffer, Chamois; and Hubert Dudenhoeffer, Isadore Dudenhoeffer and Aloysius Dudenhoeffer, all of Frankenstein. Four sisters, Sister Cupertina, Milwaukee, Wis.; and Mrs. Regina Troesser, Mrs. Barbara Thoenen and Mrs. Mary Jaegers, all of Frankenstein. Twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Morton Funeral Home, Linn, are incomplete."

She was born April 19, 1896, at Mint Hill, the daughter of Vincent and Mary Hayes Baclesse. She was married May 16, 1911, at Mint Hill, to John Michael O'Dowd, who preceded her in death 10 years ago. She attended the Georgetown public schools and was a member of the Chamois Church of Christ. Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Mary Whertvine, Washington; two brother, Bud Baclesse and John G. Baclesse, both of Linn; three sisters, Mrs. Frank O'Dowd, Chamois; Mrs. Dave Kloeppel and Mrs. Tommie Phillips, both of Linn. Services were Sunday at the Morton Chapel, Linn, with Bro. John Lyons officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery near Chamois. Pall bearers were Gary Baclesse, Steve Smith, Gary Kloeppel, John Fitzgerald, Clarence Laughlin, Dwayne Helmig."

Mrs. Champlain was born Aug. 2, 1895 at Rich Fountain, the daughter of John and Gertrude Reichel Brendel. She was married to Frank Champlain, who died in 1970. Survivors include two brothers, Anthony and Louis Brendel, both of Freeburg; one sister, Mrs. Marie Wolfrum, Vienna. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Bernard Timpe officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Birmingham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."

Mrs. Cramer was born July 3, 1900, in Aud, the daughter of Gottfried and Caroline Begemann Wenger. She was married Oct. 27, 1926, at Morrison, to Charles C. Cramer, who survives at the home. She was a member of the St. James United Church of Christ and a member of the church's Women's Fellowship. Other survivors include: four sons, Charles L. Cramer, Columbia; Richard R. Cramer, Jefferson City; Kenneth C. Cramer and Dale W. Cramer, both of Morrison; one sister, Mrs. Anna Keisker, Chamois; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at the St. James United Church of Christ with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison. Funeral arrangement are under the direction of the Blumer Funeral Service, Morrison."

He was employed in St. Louis before returning to Linn 21 years ago He was a member of the Lane Community Church and the Masonic Lodge 326 in Linn. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George Faith, Linn; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Morton Chapel in Linn with Bro. John Lyon officiating. Burial was in the Lane Cemetery.

He was a retired carpenter. Other survivors include: three sons, Bill Champlain, Parker, Colo.; Howard Champlain, Pueblo, Colo.; and Edwin Champlain, Colorado; two step-sons, Joseph Abbate, Pueblo, Col; and C. D. Abbatee, New Mexico; one daughter, Mrs. Dora lee Buff, Pueblo, Colo.; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Rose Parish, Pueblo, Colo. Two brothers, Harrison and Leonard Champlain, both of Denver, Colo.; four sisters, Nellie Burd, Jefferson City and Mrs. Rose Simpson, Miss Ann Champlain and Mrs.. Opal Fasulis, all of the state of California; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday at the Freeman Chapel, Jefferson City, with the Rev. John Glosser officiating. Burial was in Pueblo, Colorado."

Services were at the First Christian Church in Stockton. Mrs. Carlisle, 20, was a daughter of State Patrol Sgt. and Mrs. Milton A. Moore. Death was attributed to cancer. She was born Dec. 8, 1953, at Carthage, and was a 1971 graduate of Stockton High School. On June 2, 1973, she was married to Robert M. Carlisle, who survives with her parents and a sister, Miss Sandra Kay Moore. Other survivors include her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Verdie Herndon of Stockton and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Burial was in the cemetery at Stockton under the direction of the Brumback Funeral Home. Rev. Boyce Morton officiated at the services. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Davis attended the funeral services last Thursday."

He worked as a laborer in Jefferson City for many years and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Survivors include: two brothers, Joseph Cooper, Kansas City; and Tom Cooper, 414 near West Elm Street. Services are scheduled for Wednesday at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. John Buchanan officiating. Burial well be at Resurrection Cemetery under the direction of Freeman Mortuary."

Mrs. Combs was the wife of Victor R. Combs, vice president of the Arcady Farms Milling Company, North Kansa City. She has been ill since last April. Mrs. Combs was 40 years old. She was born in Chamois, Missouri, and was married June 1, 1904. Mr. and Mrs. Combs lived in Kansas City ten years. Mr. Clark is survived by his widow who was a Miss Beller before her marriage to Mr. Clark and is also survived by two children, Virgil and Ed Clark. Mr. Clark was born and reared in Osage County and spent all of his life farming. He was an industrious and highly intelligent man, and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances."

Mrs. Crutsinger formerly resided at Chamois, Missouri, but has made Jefferson City her home for the past year. Mrs. Crutsinger was 72 years of age. She was born in St. Louis County. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ouide Shobe, Mrs. Margaret Reuter, Mrs. Jennie Sharp, Mrs. C. R. Marquand and by a son, F. M. Crutsinger of Cleveland. Mrs. Crutsinger was a daughter of the late Thomas J. Mahon, who was one of the pioneer settlers of Osage County. Mrs. Crutsinger was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Chamois on Sunday with funeral services conducted by Rev. McDonald of Jefferson City."

Mrs. Clark was a daughter of the late Samuel Bluford and Mrs. Isabel Miller and was born at the family homestead 8 miles southeast of Linn in 1890. In 1909 she was united in marriage to Mr. Clark. Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband, her sister, Mrs. Atlee Lambeth of Linn; Adam Miller, her half-brother."

Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1968 - "Obituary of Elizabeth Cartier" "Nelle Cartier (nee Flanagan), died at St. Louis County Hospital on the morning of August 29, 1968 at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 29 days. The funeral was held at Holy Redeemer Church, Webster Groves, on August 31 with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis County. Elizabeth Nelle Flanagan was the first child of William and Catherine Moran Flanagan, born in Linn, Osage County, Missouri on January 31, 1882. For several years she taught school in Osage County. On February 11, 1907, in Linn, she married Victor Emil Cartier, a son of Hypolyte Urban and Constance Senevey Cartier. Commenting on the wedding the "Unterrified Democrat" of Linn said: "____ the bride has always been a favorite in social circles, is intelligent and attractive___ With these splendid qualities of heart that has endured her to many friends." The "Osage County Enterprise" of February 14, 1907 said in part: " The groom is a popular young man of Bonnots Mill and the son of Squire Cartier......... the bride is one of Osage County's best school teachers and an accomplished young lady." Two children were born of this union - Urban Arthur in 1908, who died in 1954, and Catherine Mary in 1918 who married Gregory R. Lucy and lives in Webster Groves. After the birth of their only son, Nelle and Victor Cartier moved to St. Louis where her husband was with the Merchant Exchange almost up to the time of his death in 1955. She is survived by the one daughter, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren."

Rev. Michael Flanagan officiated. Mr. Crow was born at Westphalia on July 5, 1893 to Joe and Mary Wolfe Crow, and died at a Jefferson City hospital Saturday, August 26 (1967). On July 14, 1950, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Catherine Walters. She survives. He is also survived by one half-brother, John Smith of Loose Creek. Burial was in the Linn Public Cemetery."

She had made many friends in Osage County during her visits here. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Oland, two sisters, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The floral tributes showed the high esteem in which she was held. Rev. B. R. Cummins of the First Methodist Church delivered a very fitting sermon. The funeral was at Coulterville, Ill. Feb. 7. Attending from Osage County were: Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morton, Tillie Miller, Francis Ford and Mrs. Gus Hartwig. Several visited at the Funeral Home on Sunday."

Mrs. Clark was born March 10, 1882, in Cole County, a daughter of Clayton and Anna Sparks Hart. On Oct. 12, 1897, she was married to John B. Clark. He died Oct. 21, 1935. Survivors include: three sons, Clarence Clark, Dixon; John Clark, Argyle; and George Clark, Meta. Five daughters, Mrs. George Shanks, Highgate; Mrs.. Lee McWilliams, state of Florida; Mrs. Bertha Terwilliger, Vienna; Mrs. Clyde Hollis and Mrs. Herbert Rowden, both of Meta. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home Chapel, Vienna. The Rev. Robert Carter officiated. Burial was in the Little Flock Cemetery near Vienna."
