Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974 - " Charles P. Henke, 83, Westphalia, died Sunday (May 26, 1974) at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born July 10, 1890 in Westphalia, the son of Henry and Mary Rademacher Henke. On Nov. 12, 1916, he was married to Katherine Wansing, who survives. Mr. Henke was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Westphalia Council No. 1171 and Knights of Columbus. Other survivors include two sons, Leo Henke and Charles P. Henke, Jr., both of Westphalia; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Loehner, Koeltztown; Mrs. Golda Kastrup, St. Louis; Mrs. Wilma Mengwasser, Jefferson City; and Miss Rose Henke of Westphalia, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Rev. John Degnan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974 - " Paul Hubert Haslag, 78, Loose Creek, died Thursday, May 30, (1974) at Linn. Mr. Haslag was born Sept. 12, 1895 at Loose Creek, the son of August and Christine Gentges Haslag. On April 20, 1920, he was married at Loose Creek to the former Irene Orscheln, who preceded him in death. Mr. Haslag was a retired farmer. He also served as an Osage County judge for several years. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Lorraine) Lehmen of Linn; and Mrs.. Norman (Marcella) Kleithermes of St. Charles; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Nilges and one brother, Henry Haslag. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 1974 at Immaculate conception Catholic church, loose Creek, with Rev. Kevin Gormley officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with Mortons Service in charge of arrangements. The V.F.W. Post 4756 of Linn was in charge of military burial. Pallbearers were: Rudolph Nilges, Paul Nilges, Wm. Kuster, Norman Muenks, Bob Lock and Albert Haslag."

Mrs. Hayes was born March 10, 1875 near Linn, the daughter of Anton and JoAnne Sieg Baclesse. She was married Dec. 20, 1892, near Linn to William F. Hayes, who died June 13, 1924. Survivors include: one son, Louis Hayes, Linn; three daughters, Mrs. Della DeGood, Batvia, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Trucks, Eugene; Mrs. Belle Eads, Morrison; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday at the Morton Chapel, Linn, with Rev. Charles W. Miller officiating. Burial was in the Shirley Cemetery at Chamois."

Two brothers, John Haller, Harlan, Iowa; and Vincent Haller of Freeburg; seven sisters, Mrs. Louis Brendel, Mrs. Mary Gradel, Mrs. Anton Gradel and Mrs. Barbara Vermoilen, all of Freeburg; Mrs. Catherine Boehmer, Linn; Miss Ann Haller and Mrs. William Schumacher, both of St. Louis; and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday at the Holy Family Catholic church in Freeburg with the Rev. Norman Ahrens officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1924: 'Henry Haslag died suddenly of heart failure Monday morning. (September 1, 1924). Mr. Haslag and family were visiting at the home of Linus Haslag at the time. Aged 43 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Theresia Steiferman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stieferman of Frankenstein. Two sons and two daughter and also his parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Herman Haslag and quite a few brothers and sisters also survive."
Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974 - " Arnold Hummert, 90, of Morrison, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1974, at the Hermann Area Hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1884, at Hope to Mr. and Mrs. August Hummert. On Sept. 16, 1908, he was married to the former Lena Schollmeyer, at Hope. She survives at the home. Mr. Hummert operated a funeral home and a hardware and lumber business in Morrison until his retirement about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Morrison community Bank for more than 50 years. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, and served on various boards and councils at the church. Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Howard Sundermeyer, Kansas City; and Mrs. Dewey Weiher, St. Louis; and one grandchild. Funeral services were Monday at St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, with the Rev. Richard W. Reinwald officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison."

Injured in the wreck was her husband, Robert Helmig, only other passenger in the car. Mrs. Helmig was born Dec. 17, 1952 at Jefferson City, the daughter of Norman E. and Mary Ruth Voss Pointer, who survive at Linn. On July 18, 1970, at Linn, she was married to Robert (Spike) Helmig, who survives at the home. She was graduated from Linn High School and was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue. Other survivors include: one son, Andy Wayne Helmig of the home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Pointer, Linn; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Voss, Linn; Five brothers, Bernard J. Pointer, Columbia; Gary D.; Steven P., Harry E., and Timothy G. Pointer, all of Linn; and two sisters, Miss Jeri Lynn and Miss Lori Ann Pointer, both of Linn. Funeral services were Wednesday at the R.L.D. S. Church, Linn, with the Rev. Bill Cardwell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Morton Funeral Home, Linn was in charge of arrangements."

He was a former school teacher, farmer and merchant. He was a member of the Pilot Knob Baptist Church near Belle and had served as a deacon in that church since 1938. He was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Westermann on July 4, 1898 at Westphalia and to them were born two sons and six daughters, all surviving; Edmund, Lee, Theo., Della, Rita Horstdaniel; Mrs. Florence Baker, Mrs. Amanda Luebbert, and Mrs. Etta Alkins."

Mr. Haslag was born Dec. 6, 1891 at Loose Creek, a son of Herman and Mary Mertens Haslag. He was married Nov. 1913 at Frankenstein to the former Miss Gertrude Stiefermann, who survives at the home. Educated in the parish schools of Loose Creek, Mr. Haslag was a retired farmer and stock raiser. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Help Catholic Church at Frankenstein and the Holy Name Society of that church. Mr. Haslag was active in Frankenstein community affairs. Other survivors include: two son, Sylvester F. Haslag, Frankenstein; and Rafel A. Haslag, Linn; a daughter, Mrs. Cyrus Doerweiler, Linn; two brothers, Edward Haslag and Conrad Haslag, both of Linn; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The rosary will be prayed Tuesday at the Morning Chapel, Linn. Funeral services will be Wednesday at Our lady of help Catholic Church at Frankenstein with the Rev. Joseph Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery at Frankenstein."

Miss Huber was born Sept. 9, 1908 in Westphalia, the daughter of Charles and Mary Fechtel Huber. She lived with her niece, Marilyn Huber. Miss Huber was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral parish and Circle No. 332, the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include four brothers: William Huber, Washington; Joseph Huber, Jefferson City; Carl Huber and Arthur Huber, both of Westphalia; and two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Schauwecker, Crowley, Tex. and Sister Mary Meninad, SSND, St. Louis. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Westphalia with burial in the parish cemetery. Dulle Funeral Home of Westphalia was in charge of arrangements."

Mrs. Haynes died at the age of 93 years and was making her home with her daughter and family at Summerville, Mo.
