I checked the 1860 Census and there are no John BLANKENSHIPS age 9 in the 1860 census [or even close in age as he should be]... There is a 2 yr old John C., son of John and Louisa J. BLANKENSHIP, but that's it in Oregon Co. I'd get on the area mailing list where people with resources of the surrounding counties including Oregon Co., MO are at.
