There does not appear to be a connection with the Burns in my line. BTW the name McGinnis has a multitude of alternative spellings including ties to the Guinness family of brewery fame. Abraham McGinnis was a miller in Wayne County, MO, and there is an Obadiah McGinnis who married the widow Jane (McGee) Johnson about 1830 and lived in Wayne and Stoddard counties.
