Oregon County, Missouri is half a country away from the State of Oregon. There were Thompson people in mid Kentucky. Try Hart Co., KY. Maybe you will find him there before he was in Oregon. I have many people who went to Oregon from Kansas and some are still there. There were also many Thompson people in Missouri and Illinois. Good luck.
