I have Laffoon's on both my maternal and paternal lines. Everything about my family seems to trace back to Surry Co, NC. Since I am just beginning my serious Bledsoe research and documentation, I am not sure where/if there is a connection. I'll let you know when/if I find it! Thanks for all your help! Mickey Roux

Surnames: Bledsoe Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CMB.2ACE/633.1.1 Message Board Post: Lanita, Thanks for replying. I agree that Josiah & Catherine must have died. I am intrigued by the probate records for Wiley in 1874. I do not have a death date for him. I am intrigued, though, because Elizabeth, Wiley's wife, is listed as the head of household in the 1870 census. Could you give me additional information (or point me in the right direction) for Wiley's probate records? For clarification sake, Josiah's children were living with their grandparents (Wiley & Elizabeth were Josiah's parents), not an older brother. Thank you for checking all those sources for me.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CMB.2ACE/633.1 Message Board Post: I checked the cemetery book, and Josiah and Catherine are not listed. I also checked the marriages to see if either remarried after the other died... still nothing. I also checked the probate listings, still nothing. Wiley, as you probably know, died in 1874 as proven by the probate listing for him. I would say that since children were living with their older brother, Josiah and Catherine both died betw. 1850-1860, and are in unmarked graves in Oregon Co. I don't think they would leave younger children if they decided to 'move on'. Lanita

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bledsoe, Barker, Campbell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CMB.2ACE/633 Message Board Post: I am searching for information regarding Josiah BLEDSOE (aka: J W Bledsoe), born about 1821 probably in NC. He was the son of Wiley & Elizabeth (CAMPBELL) BLEDSOE. An 1850 Oregon Co, MO census lists Josiah with his wife, Catherine, and his children, James H. and Anderson M. It appears that Josiah moved his family from Surry Co, NC to Oregon Co, MO. In 1850, Josiah's parents and siblings are still living in Surry County. An 1860 Oregon County census lists Wiley and his family. Josiah's children are also living with Wiley and are listed as: Henderson, Mitcheal, and Jane. Land records show that Wiley purchased land in Oregon Co, MO on 1 Sept 1859. By that time, Wiley was about 69 years old. What happened to Josiah BLEDSOE and Katherine (BARKER) BLEDSOE?

McCammon (aka: John McCameron) in Thayer, Oregon Co, MO? I am trying to identify a photo that is supposedly Mary (BLEDSOE) McCAMMON. It was emailed to me without any other information. "My" Mary died in 1924. If the photo is "my" Mary, it would have had to have been taken prior to July 30, 1924. I am hoping somebody will recognize either the woman or the property. AND/OR that somebody has a photo of the McCammon/McCameron property that I could compare to this photo. I have attached the photo for others to view. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Mickey Roux
