Author: Argyres Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.oregon/1238.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: More information: in 1910 the last name is actually spelled Halpin and Miranda, August, and son William are still in California. This time, however, William's name is listed as William T. Gunderson, step-son of August. The census record states August and Miranda have been married for 12 years and that she has been married a total of three times. She would have married August Halpin when William was four years old. William T. Gunderson did register for WWI in 1917 and was listed as single. His birth date was 9/29/1893 and he died, according to social security records, on 12/27/1978 in Santa Clara county, CA. In the 1930 census he was listed as an inmate in the Camp Fremont and United States Public Health Service Hospital #24 in San Mateo. Still haven't found Charles--sorry! Author: Argyres Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.oregon/1238.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Miranda and August Halfin were living in Crockett, Contra Costa County, California in 1900. August was born Aug 1855 in Germany, Miranda Oct 1863 England, and their children, Annie C born Jan 1888 in California and Walter T. born Sep 1893 in California. Also living with them was Miranda's mother, Eugenia Jackson born Nov 1828 in England...she states in the census that only 5 of 9 children born to her were still living. Could be that Charles was gone by that time? Do you have a middle initial for him? Unfortunately Thompson is just common enough to cause some research issues. It does appear though they were all in California by late 1880's.... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [MOOREGON] Researching ancestors/descendants of William Davis, ca 1805
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: 4michildren Surnames: Davis, Ellis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.oregon/1237/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm seeking information on the ancestors and descendants of William Davis born about 1805, depending on which census you look at, he originally listed KY as his home state and later began listing TN as his home state. I have been told he probably had 2-3 wives, but I have been given no proof of that, I only know who some of his children were and their offspring. William Davis was my GGG Grandfather, and his daughter Margaret Davis was my GG Grandmother, who married John Ellis. I have a suspicion that William Davis and Rhoda/Rody Davis were either married or were siblings?? She was listed on various census at other locations and not living with him and his daughters, but then suddently he is listed with Rody Davis, I think it was on the 1870 census of Carter Co, MO if memory recalls correctly. I think he died there about 1873 and is buried in Carter Co, MO. I have the following info, if you know it is incorrect, please let me know. William Davis born abt 1805 KY or TN. died in Carter, Co, MO ~1873. Married before 1826 when I have first child listed: 1. Mary Ann born in TN 1826 and married Samuel E Henderson; 2. Berryman Davis, TN died ~1871-1873, he married Caroline Carter, 3-11-1857 in Williamson Co, IL. They had children: William B, Mary E, Sarah E, Thomas, Martha C, John A, and Susan. 3. James A. ~1829, died after 1873, no more info... 4. Sarah Ann ~1832 in TN, no other info.. 5. Jane ~1833-1834 in TN, died 1861-1873 sometime, probably in Carter Co, MO 6. Allen ~1840, TN or MO, died 8 Apr 1888 Carter Co, MO, buried in Joplin Cemetery there. He married Elizabeth Dildine and they had 7 children: John H, Francis Marion, Charity, William, Nancy M, Margaret Matilda, and Mary A or Gracie. 7. Margaret ~1841 in AR or MO, died 3-7-1892, prob. buried in Iron or Madison county, MO near Brunot. She married John Ellis from Ohio, they had: Nancy Missiouri, William Henry, Allen Joshua, Mary Ellen Elizabeth,Harriet Clementine, Tennessee Carolina, Adia Sophrona, and Charity Lulu. Any additional information on the Davis or Ellis family members is greatly appreciated! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
