Also thinking that one of the later county histories might mention your guy if he was a mayor in 1890... might even be a portrait of some sort? Do you know if he died in Dayton? His obit might be interesting if he died here? Have you seen www.daytonhistorybooks.com? It has full text of many of the Dayton and Montgomery county history books and is fully searchable... The Dayton city directories would certainly list him... be interesting to see where he lived and what occupations he had....
