She died in Portland, but was sent back to Great Falls to be entombed - I found the mausoleum and they also have William. Now that I have the death date I can go back to Vital Records and get his death cert - maybe we will find out what the E and D stand for! I will be at my parents tomorrow and plan to look at the book. In pretty bad shape, actually full of signatures, my mom thinks from the other members he served with. Am going to try to get ot copied by someone who can hadle it properly (will check with the Oregon Historical Society). Yay!
