The accident happened at the Montgomery county infirmary, 601 Infirmary Rd. The coroner's office ruled it accidental death by electrocution. Sheriff's Deputies Fred Tressler and Bill Newshaw said Smith was working for Earl D. Creager, Inc., laying sewer pipe at the rear of the home. Smith was hooking a piece of pipe to a crane cable when he accidentally pulled the cable into the overhead lines, they said. The crane operator tried to warn him, officers said, but he apparently didn't hear the operator's shouts. ------ Dayton Daily News Dayton, Ohio September 1, 1962 Death Notices: SMITH, Conder, 38 of 335 Quitman St., Thursday.
