Hadley, of Kettering, died June 9, 2007, at his home after a short illness. Larry was born in Hazel Park, Michigan, and graduated from Somerville High School in New Jersey. He had a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Connecticut. Larry was an associate professor of economics at the University of Dayton, having served as department chair, academic senator, and active member of several university committees. A noted labor economist specializing in sports economics research, Larry was recently named, vice president of the International Association of Sports Economists, and was an active member of various other professional economics organizations. He is survived by his wife, Linda, son Mark and daughter-in-law Julie, son Eric and daughter-in-law Christine, and daughter Alena. Other survivors include his parents, Wayne and Virginia Hadley, sisters Christine and Karen, brother Ronald, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the University of Dayton Immaculate Conception Chapel on Friday, June 15.
