Mr. Hiatt was an entrepreneur, a member of the Ripley Lions Club, a former president of the economic development and save our buildings committees in Ripley. He was born on September 13, 1931 in Miamisburg, the son of the late Joe and Mary Alma (Fairrell) Hiatt. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Hiatt and two sisters, Flora Mae Hiatt and Vera Mudd. Mr. Hiatt is survived by his wife Robin (Spiller) Hiatt; seven children: Julia (Ronald) Laughland of Goodlettsville, Tenn., David (Debi) Hiatt of Las Vegas, Nev., Kathryn (Philip) Nelson of Virginia Beach, Virg., Charles Hiatt of Kettering, Jeff (Carole) Tyree of Winnetka, Cal. and Abigail and Olivia Hiatt both of Ripley; six grandchildren and two brothers, Glenn and Charles Hiatt, both of Miamisburg. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley. Tuesday. Interment in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
