Kappel, 81, of Kettering, died Monday, January 14, 2008. Mr. Kappel was a 1944 Stivers High School graduate, a 45 year plus employee of NCR-last position held prior to retirement, Manager Executive Program, a 52 year member and past Master of John W. Durst Lodge 716. He was also Past Patron of Harvest Chapter 564 Order of the Eastern Star; Watchman of the Shepards-Dayton White Shrine and a member of South Park United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Joanna C. Kappel. He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Lee (Lee) Diem of Temecula, CA and a granddaughter. A worship service was held Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Southpark United Methodist Church. Burial at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the "California Rainbow for Girls Foundation."
