Avey, 96, of Beavercreek, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Heartland of Kettering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Glenn Avey; son, Charles David Avey; daughter, Phyllis Cromley. She is survived by daughters, Mildred (Frank) Lackey and Mary Downing; sons, Glenn Thomas (Karen) Avey and Daniel A. Avey; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was retired from the Dayton Board of Education and was a member of Dayton F.O.E. 321 Auxiliary. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 8 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, Kettering.
