Carolyn, I was pleased to read that you do genealogy for the Dayton National Soldiers Home. I hope that you can help me locate information regarding my Uncle Joseph H. Heiney. Born: 08 Feb 1897, Montgomery County Died: 20-21 Jan 1978, Montgomery County, probably at the National Soldiers Home. Joe never married. Ancestry.com Military Service: WW1, enlisting May 1917 I recall Uncle Joe visiting, in uniform, upon returning from the South Pacific in 1945-46 but have not located any military records. Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I also have a copy of an Ancestor Chart that has Joseph Kauffman b. april 1854 in Montgomery co. Oh. as the son of Henry Coffman and Catherine Myers married Sept. 2 1840. I think Henry and Catherine both died before 1860. In the 1860 census for Montgomery Co. all the children are living with other families, and in the 1870 census Elizabeth and Joseph are living with Henry and Emily and their son Edward Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
