Author: CarpathianPeasant1 Surnames: Wright Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.montgomery/2300.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, Ginny! A lot of Wright family information is available in the first part of a book called "The Bishop's Boys" by Tom Crouch. There is an online version of at least parts of it; but, I don't have a link handy. You should be able to find it if you check out Google ebooks. I don't know the family personally or the family history beyond that and doubt that they ever even considered a bicycle shop in Cincinnati; but, I do believe that the General Electric jet engine factory in Cincinnati's suburbs was one of the later factories (Curtiss=Wright) and the great-grand niece of the Wright Brothers has lived in Cincinnati. Check out the book first -- although it's not brand new, it is the biography the Wright family likes best. 1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Birth parents
    2. Patricia Petty
    3. Would someone on the list do some sleuthing for me. My cousin was adopted through Catholic Charities in Dayton. We don't know the certain names of the parents. The more I search, the more it looks like it could be the Stella I see in the '30 census below. The mother is Nellie (close enough to Della as a child remembers.) She was divorced which could also give reason for her not to be able to care for her grandchild in 1945-1947 when her daughter Stella died at Stillwater. Here are the details on by cousin's birth certificate. She weighed 5 pounds, and was prematurely born at 8.05 months at St. Ann's maternity hospital, Dayton, Ohio, on October 24, 1945, at 6:40 p.m. Medical doctor was D. H. Davies from Dayton Ohio signed October 24, 1945 received by registrar, H.H. Williams, on November 5, 1945 Traditional history Her mom told her that the biological mother's name was Della and her mother's name was Stella or it might have been the other way around. The families were Polish. "Stella" had tuberculosis and was a patient at Stillwater Sanitarium. She was told that her husband was killed in WWII right after his daughter's birth. (It could have been that she was told the shocking news, and then went into labor) She suffered depression and gave up trying to live. She died sometime after giving birth in 1945 - probably to 1947. We don't know the married name of Stella...I suspect it's also Polish. I've reviewed the death's of all Montgomery Servicemen dieing in 1945, but that's assuming he came from Montgomery County. Can anyone else come up with ideas to find the birth parents, please. Pat in OK 1930 United States Federal Census Name: Stella Pomianowski Home in 1930: Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio Age: 14 Estimated birth year: abt 1916 Relation to Head of House: Daughter Parent's Name: Nellie

    1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Marie Carr
    2. From Carol
    3. Marie Carr was born in Vinton County, Ohio and to my knowledge, never married. She died on July 13, 1976 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She worked at a couple of small restaurants or diners in or near downtown Dayton. I believe they were on 3rd Street. By any chance, does anyone remember her or would someone be able to search city directories from about 1931 on to see where she lived and worked. She may have lived with her Aunt Clara for a time. Are the only city directories or genealogy department at the downtown Dayton library? Is ther any place to get copies of death certificates for 1976 at a minimal price?

    1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Clara and Roy
    2. From Carol
    3. Clara Frazee was born in Vinton Co., Ohio in 1893. She was still living at home in 1930 as per her father's obit. Our aunt could only remember that her Aunt Clara had married someone named Roy and they lived in Dayton, Ohio. Our aunt said Clara died in or about 1945. She is not listed in her brother's 1946 obit. I believe she and her cousin, Marie Carr, may have moved to Dayton in the 30's or 40's. Perhaps Clara met Roy and married him in Dayton. Does anyone have access to city directories in the 30's or 40's to see if Marie and Clara perhaps lived together in Dayton? Does anyone have and Uncle Roy who married someone named Clara Frazee in the 30's or 40's. I was told they were building a new house and she died before it was finished. Carol Decker Tipton, IN
