I have been researching the intertwined relations of my Forsythe, Hubbell, Brunson relatives in Ohio, and I finally found Sallie A Sarah Hubbell Forsythe Brunson's death cert. in Piqua in 1909. Her daughter Ollie Forsyth Marshall Brunson went missing at about that time, and eventually turned up in Detroit where she died. The signature of the informant was hard to decipher - I guessed that the first name might be Ollie, but the last name wasn't Brunson in any way shape or form....So when I read your post of Montgomery Co marriages around that time - I looked again at the last name of Ollie on the death cert, and BINGO! I can easily imagine that it is Faber. I don't know anyone who knows about this marriage, as she went back to using the name Brunson in Detroit! 1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] In search for a marriage record from 1830-1833
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: MQuiltr2 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.montgomery/4478/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am hoping someone can help me find a marriage record. The surname may not be spelled as I would expect it to be...surname spellings found to date are: Sheler, Shelar, Sheeler, Shiller, Shuler, Schuler, Scheeler, etc. depending upon the accent given, they all sound about the same however. Marriage record between John Sheler and Maria or Mariah, maiden name yet undiscovered. She is older than he by about 5-6 years, and may have been previously married. in the 1840 census they are listed with one son age 0-5, one daughter 0-5 and two 5-10. If John was born about 1815-1820, and Maria/Mariah was born between 1809-1815, the older daughters may have been hers from a previous marriage, but I do not know that for certain either. Could also be all their children. Children known to have been born in Ohio to this couple: Elizabeth (~1833), William ~`1835), Julia/Juliann (~1836), Daniel (~1840), John (~1841) , Amanda (~1842), Abraham (~1847, Mary (~1840-1841). John Sheler's census images indicate he was born in one of three states:Maryland shows up most often, followed by Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Maria/Mariah's census images indicate she was born in New Jersey...or oddly enough, Georgia. I do not believe the Georgia statements. I am hoping to establish a marriage date and location, and also add to the family ancestry with the names of parents for either spouse...especially hoping to determine her maiden name. Please contact me directly for any money needed for records and postage. Please let me know of any costs BEFORE you invest your own money and time on my behalf. Only a retired military couple with very limited means of support. MQuiltr2@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
