I looked in the Phone book and did not find any Schuer's listed. After more searching I found that Edward C. Schuer died Dec 8, 1981 in Dayton. As for Martha M. Schuer I am also sorry but she passed away on Feb 14, 1981. I have a possible listing of Stephen M. Schuer living in Columbus Ohio. I'm not sure if he is your relative but he is shown as birth in 1940 and living in Columbus. As for Michael I show a Michael Edward living in Michigan. I hope this helps. I've "rescued" two old photographs of Ward SMITH which were both taken at the Bowersox Studio in Dayton, Ohio. They appear to have been taken at the same time, sometime during the 1880's most likely with Ward appearing to be about 3-6 years old at the time they were taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from Ward's family so that these beautiful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are a member of this SMITH Family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Inquiries about the Fairview Cemetery in Englewood should be addressed the City Clerk City of Englewood 333 West National Rd. Englewood, OH 45322-1495 The cemetery is right down the street from the city building on National Rd on the other side of the road. The Clerk has always been polite and very helpful to me in the past. Marianne's Pizza is right next door to the cemetery. Tammy Gregory

From the 1940 census in NY he had 2 daus and one son. I know the son is Jacob, but I am trying to find out the 2 daus. One may be Esther Bicksler who married a Joseph Leopard but I have not confirmed this. Did Hans (John) and his brother Christian come to America in 1725? What ship? Then did their brother Peter come to America in 1727 aboard the "Friendship"? Do you know who the father of these 3 brothers is? Any information you can provide would be helpful. Hi, I'm trying to do searches in Ancestry databases for the surname HARRIS in Montgomery county around 1800. I thought that the county was formed in 1803, but when I look in marriage records and the 1800 census, I don't get the option of selecting Montgomery county. I'm specifically looking for the Dayton area and I have found Harris references in later census records in Washington Twp and Dayton Wards 1, 2, 3, & 5. What county should I use for Dayton for 1800? Hamilton? Diane Hettrick, dhettrick@earthlink.net May you ask the right question of the right person at the right time.

I have listed it on Findagrave.com and requested a photo of the headstone for you...a local volunteer will go to the cemetery, and take a photo of the headstone and post it to the site. Please be patient about this, as it is winter/colder, and most of us don't like to go out in the cold or take dreary winter shots. I can let you know when someone posts the photo, or you can check the site yourself. Simply go to findagrave.com. Click on cemetery search, and then type in Fairview and Ohio. It will bring up several cemeteries with that name, simply run through them until you come across the cemetery in Montgomery County. Is it an active Cemetery? The Montgomery Library told me that Fairview is more properly called Englewood Cemetery, but this Board implies from Obits it is Fairview Cemetery in Englewood. The Library speculated that the Cemetery might be associated with Fairview Bretherine in Christ Church, but the church Office says they are not currently but it is possible they were many years ago. I am told that a family I am researching is buried there, Helena Gertrude Quedeweit Keller d.30 Mar 1979 and Paul Leroy Keller d.abt.1941-1943 Apparently this Cemetery is not among those published by the local Genealogy Soc. MIA Soldier: JAMES JOSEPH ROBERTS Born: June 9, 1928. Caucasian Date of loss: July 20, 1950. POW When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. These are 51 families from Ohio that are missing and six from Montgomery County. When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency. I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family. There was a Beavertown area in Van Buren Twp. in Montgomery County. Since "Wayne" is a common name for townships and since our Wayne Township is close to Miami, Clark, and Greene counties, you may find a match if you search those counties. I see no "KISER" in Beavertown Cemetery, Van Buren Township.
