Steve, I'm researching the family of Hiram Shaw in Germantown, Ohio circa 1850's on. Related names through marriage are Ingram and Fay, and some others. Some of the male Shaws were living in Dayton in the 1920's, as well as Ingram's. Hiram married into the Nicholas Gilman family of Germantown in the early 1860's. I do have a lot of information on these families. Any connection to your Shaws? Hello to all on the List My husband's John Himes was born in PA, Hanover Twp, Oct 12, 1763. He left PA about 1787 and settled in Fayette Co, KY near Lexington, KY, However at that time, Fayette Co, KY may have been still VA. He was there about 8 years and had about 6 children (we are on vacation in Corpus Christi TX with a daughter so I am not sure exactly) However his first son was Samuel b. abt 1789. The family came to Dayton, OH about 1805 and John Himes bought land in Washington Co. OH. I have searched extensively to find the name of his wife, but no records found so far. When John died in 1813 there were several minor children, and even though the wife was alive, a Guardian by the name of Joseph Colman was named (Coleman). Does anyone know anything about the Coleman/Colman families or Heim/Himes in Dayton, OH.in order that I might find where John and his unknown wife are buried, and or the name of his wife. Many of the Himes family is buried at David Cemetery along with the Swadners, and Creagers, and Shroyers, all related, but nothing on John Himes 1763=1813. Thanks in advance , for any help. Dottie Himes, wife of John W. Himes (both originally from Dayton, OH djhimes@bellsouth.net

A group of us are researching all the HARTRUM families as part of a One-Name Study. There were many HARTRUMs in Ohio, especially in Montgomery, Preble and Franklin counties. We are currently using DNA testing to prove that the family tree as we have it is correct, and to connect (or otherwise) individuals where conventional records are insufficient. To this end we also need to know the parents of *living" individuals. If you know of any living HARTRUMs will you please contact me *privately* with their contact information, or ask them to contact me -- Thanks. Obviously any information about living individuals is kept in the strictest confidence and we will never place it on the Internet or divulge it without their permission. The Hartrum Family Tree and other information can be viewed at the signature line's URL. Cheers, -- Dave -- See the HARTRUM/HOTRUM Family Tree at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hotrum ---
