The graves were moved to an active cemetery, but I'm not sure which one. The Miamisburg Historical Society just published a new cemetery book for Hillgrove within the past year. Here is a link to the book: http://miamisburg.org/1863_to_2000_hill_grove_cemetery_book.htm Also, here is a link to the historical society. It also names the cemeteries on the bottom. It looks like it was the Lutheran Church cemetery, also named miamisburg, next to the riverbank. Then it was moved. Was it moved to Hillgrove then, a few blocks away? I have a 2 page list of people buried at Miamisburg, and they were all pre-1900. Does anyone know if these stones were then also moved to Hillgrove? If there were any left in saveable condition? Thank you for the link! excellent find! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The (2) Amy's & Samuel's, I believe are the same. I would guess that they lived at one or the other of the two places and moved to the second location. As you can see, Amy is a widow in both instances and Samuel, a painter at both places. They were either moving in with, or away from Bloomfield. A clerical error on the part of the Directory Editor to not remove one of the locations?..just a guess, though. Thanks for looking at the obituary of Susannah Coddington. I was hoping it would show her husband's name or her maiden name...wishful thinking! I would venture a guess that Peter Coddington is our Susannah's husband. Was there a date connected with the probate? He would have died between 1824/25,(after Phoebe was conceived), and 1850, as Susannah is listed without him in the 1850 census. After you sent me the marriage information for Phebe & John Myers, I did some checking around and found that the Montgomery County Archives has copy of the Marriage Record for Phebe Ann Codington and John J. Myers. They said it didn't have much information, but did have the Minister's name. They wouldn't tell me his name, so when it comes I'll post that information. So there's no need for you to photograph that page. Thanks for the offer. Thanks again, David M. Myers Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Seems unlikely they're the same person given two different addresses. I'm not surprised that there are two Samuel's, given that I think there may be as many as three!) I was looking for Susanna Coddington's husband when I found this. I don't think Susanna is listed in any prior Dayton directories. --------------- A book titled "Enumeration 96" which is mostly an index to all kinds of records around 1800 lists William Coddington in Montgomery county and in Washington Twp (also Montgomery co) entries are for 1807, 1809, and 1810. So far he's the only candidate I've seen for Susanna's husband, but this is wishful thinking on my part! ------------------- That "obit" for Susannah Codington in 1876 is just a listing by name of everyone who died the week ending 2/12/1876. I checked backwards for a week and did not find a individual death notice for Susannah (I would have expected another index entry if there was one.. This is a fairly common occurrence in these newspapers). ----------------- >From Lindsay M. Brien's book titled "Register of Marriage Certificates recorded in Montgomery Co, Ohio, July 26, 1803 to July 20, 1851, page 58: Coddington, Amy - Samuel Cletch (sp), Feb 3, 1838 (is marked that this was the date issued, but certificate was not returned) ----------- The marriage index entry for John J. Myers and Phebe Ann Codington, dated Jan 13, 1853 is from Rose Shilt's book titled "Marriage Affadavits of Montgomery Co, Ohio, March 29, 1824 to Sept 19, 1857, page 81. The library doesn't have scanners and since I've installed Vista at home, mine no longer works. I might try photographing a couple pages to send, but my experience has been that I can photograph a paragraph reasonably well, but whole pages are a problem. --------------- >From Wayne Webb's book titled "Montgomery County Ohio Wills, Administrations and Estates 1803-1918, page 61: Peter Coddington (deceased), administrator/executor was Susannah Coddington, they list a probate packet, but no last will and testament, also possibly an estate case document. This might be another possibility for Susannah's husband assuming it's the same Susannah? There was no date associated with the entry and I don't think the library has any of this stuff on microfilm. I'm seldom able to get to the records center in Dayton since they are only open while I'm at work, so it's unlikely that I'll be able to check that out. In the 1860 census, Peter Clutch/Klutch and Bloomfield Clutch/Klutch are listed twice, as they moved into the household of John and Phoebe Myers between June 7th and July 25th, 1860. I see one of the old Sidney, Ohio names of French origin... but I'm intrigued by Peter's mother, Phoebe Coddington? Do you know anything about her? I have a collateral Coddington line up around Sidney, Ohio, but don't "know" Phoebe. Not sure what that one means by Beavercreek Cemetery... there are a lot of little cemeteries scattered through that area... that one isn't ringing a bell at the moment. Marriage license and death certificate look-up: Looking for a marriage recording for Allie ______ married to William Taylor. William's parents are Alfred Taylor and Martha (Thomas) Taylor. Probably lived Center (Phillisburg) OH. His first wife, possibly Allie, died Sept. 15, 1895, 22 years old from TB. Any info would be appreciated. Daughter was Marie Taylor born 1893.
