    1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Harry Magwood b. 1879 Georgia
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: amyhedrick92 Surnames: Magwood, Bailey, Abbott, Hickman Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.montgomery/4611/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for the death date, obituary, and possible death certificate of Harry Magwood who was born on St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia on 15 March 1879. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=glynn2&id=I04091 He left Georgia sometime before 1910 when he shows up in Campbell County, Tennessee. By 1920 he is in Montgomery with a wife named Mary M. and a bunch of Hickman step-children. My goal is to find out who Harry's mother was. His father was Stephen Magwood who had children with at least three different women. Harry had at least one full brother named Stephen. Harry was named for his grandfather, Stephen for his father. Stephen Sr. then married Susan Bailey and had at least 6 more children. He then had Susan committed for lunacy in July 1906 and married Maria Abbott in December that year. Maria had already had a child by him in 1905. I believe they separated because they are not living together by 1910 and their son is with his maternal grandparents. Maria died in 1926 and Stephen appears in the 1930 census with a wife named Ida. Thank you for any help. And the LDS on-line index and images for Ohio are like 1908-1953.... there's also a pretty good obit index at the Rutherford B. Hayes museum website.... Too bad the one I checked wasn't your guy.... that William A. and his wife Mary F. are on my Woodland cemetery cd-rom, with about seven other Peacock's... no William C. however... those are also online at www.woodlandcemtery.org Steve Koons Dayton, Ohio Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I had searched Ancestry's birth & death databases & the SSDI came up. I have to say that Ancestry's ability to control display of search findings is real 20th century technology. Anyway, I agree with you, the William Peacocks of Dayton are not my William Peacock (although they might be related). Thanks again! Peacock, born Montgomery Co, Ohio, died 3/17/1971 in Montgomery Co, Ohio.... so he doesn't appear to be your guy. There was also a William C. Peacock who died in 1998, but he was born in Shelby Co, Ohio and also died there. Dayton city directories list widow of William A. Peacock as Mary F. Peacock.... but as this Mary was his widow as early as 1968, it appears that there was more than one William A. Peacock in this area at the time? 2. Bob Markowitz
    3. Hello everyone. I found this the other day and thought I would pass the information along in case anyone here was interested. The 1860 Mortality schedule is available on CD rom for Montgomery county. I’ve heard of this, but I’ve never actually seen it before. It sounds interesting. Here is the link if you want to check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/1860-Mortality-schedule-Montgomery-county-Ohio_W0QQitemZ170219869914QQihZ007QQcategoryZ20927QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 Or you can just go to ebay and do a search for Montgomery mortality schedule 1860. I hope this helps someone! Bob M. (I have no connection to this person-- I’m just passing along the info)

I could not find any evidence that is true, and now am thinking that it may be of his guard group, again somewhere in Dayton, Ohio.
