Author: mtmom33 Surnames: LEAKE, POPE Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.montgomery/4627/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am posting to see if anyone has any of these LEAKE women in their family lines. All 3 are the daughters of Thomas LEAKE and Anne/Anna POPE. They are all listed with these parents in the 1870 Dayton, OH Census: Susan LEAKE--born in Canada, probably in 1847. Elizabeth LEAKE--born in Canada, probably in 1850. Mary LEAKE--born in Ohio probably in 1861. The two older girls do not appear in the 1880 Dayton, OH Census, so it is presumed they have married by 1880 and moved out of their parent's household by then. It is believed the family migrated from Canada to Dayton, OH in the time-frame of 1856-1858. The parents were in the area until their deaths and are both buried in the Woodland Cememtery, Dayton, OH. Anna died in 1882, and Thomas died in 1891. Any information about any of these 3 girls would be very much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] John McMullen Montgomery County Ohio
    2. Hoffmans
    3. I have seen several postings lately regarding David McMullen, b. 1819 in Montgomery County. I am looking for information on John McMullen.  Is there a family connection?  I have that he was born in 1828 in either Ohio or Maryland and died in 1900 in Germantown, Ohio.  I believe he served in the Civil War.  He was married to Anna Maria Schaeffer.  He is buried in the Germantown Cemetery, and she is buried at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.  They had 4 children, Eva, Emma, Clara and Frank.  I don't have any further information on John or their children Clara and Frank.  Thanks for any help! Lisa

    1. [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Rowe, Barney, Stevens website
    2. Linda Trent
    3. Hi Guys, I had a few people on the list write and ask me about my website for my Dayton family. Yep, I accidentally deleted the entire thing, and I'm working hard at getting it all back up. I do think that it's coming back stronger and better than before and it includes more pictures. Funny, I was thinking of all the ways I could improve it and then when cleaning out some old accounts on homestead, I must have accidentally deleted my Rowe, Barney, Stevens site. If you all just hang with me I hope to have it back up within a few months. For now, if anyone wishes to see my project and where I am now, it's at http://lindatrent.homestead.com/index.html There is also a picture of Frederick Schantz (who immigrated to Dayton from Germany) and his wife Barbara Olt Schantz. I've also started a section entitled Treasures from My Aunt's Basement, which includes a bit of what I've found along with some pictures and/or scans of the original items. There is also a page dedicated to the Phoenix Light Artillery, of the Ohio National Guard. This company was based out of Dayton and was called out to stop several uprisings. The one I have the most about is the Wheeling Creek Coal Riots of 1894 that the Dayton group was called out to. I have two letters from my great grandfather from there, as well as pictures of the regiment while there, and bunches more. If anyone wishes to make copies, please do. I can't guarantee that I'll never accidentally delete it again, though I'm going to make a CD myself, just to make sure I have a back up. Thanks, Linda Trent lindatrent@zoomnet.net
