I have a KRAMER, Lucille in my files, born in the 1880's, a relative by marriage to me. (All papers are in storage right now.) To confirm what you suspect and to dig out other info, track siblings to your Anthony and also check obits and cemetery info. Don't bypass his childrens info. Sometimes real mysteries are solved and created doing that. I found a goldmine on one line by following a sibling born in the mid 1700's. -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_co_oh-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:montgomery_co_oh-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, January 30, 2009 10:44 PM To: MONTGOMERY_CO_OH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MONTGOMERY_CO_OH] Anthony W Kramer married Margaret Maher ca 1902in Dayton, OH This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Thank you all---Ann, Anna, Linda, Jim, Angel & Connie---for the overwhelming response. I truly appreciate the help. With your help I have added a few twigs to the tree. And Connie, thank you, for clarifying cemetery name for George McKinley's wife Bertha. As always with each new bit of information comes more questions. Fred McKinley's wife Martha (according to the 1930 census) was married at age 17. This would put the marriage at about 1926. Would she have required the consent of parents? In fact, by 1926, wouldn't the parents' names appear on the marriage application anyway? Does Montgomery County have an online marriage index for that time period or do any of the libraries have the marriage records on microfilm? I have seen family trees on the Internet which lists Martha's maiden name as Wallace, but I don't want to take anything for granted. Thanks again for the great response, Sue

Looking for info on ancestry and siblings of Jacob Ridenour. Marriage Licenses of Frederick County MD show the marriage of Jacob Ridenour and Rebecca (d/o Mathias) Flook on 10 Aug 1829. Jacob & Rebecca had at least one child before moving to Montgomery County OH circa 1832. There they had at least a dozen children born before about 1850. As shown in "Montgomery County OH Cemetery Inscriptions, Vol 3," Jacob Ridenour, Rebecca, and a number of their children are buried in David's cemetery. The transcript for Jacob Ridenour reads died 7 Jul 1879, age 69y 10m 18d. By my birth date calculator, that put his birth as 19 Aug 1809. Census forms for 1850, 1860, & 1870 list Jacob's birthplace as MD. Census also confirms his birth date as 1809/1810. Jacob Ridenour could have been of Frederick County, or neighboring Washington County. I have scanned "Reitenaur Immigrants, the Early Years" by Harwell & McCown, but I couldn't find a match for this Jacob Ridenour. Clues, anyone? Thanks, Charles A Mayer Ormond by the Sea FL

Afternoon, I made a totally human error in my earlier email. It was not the 1827 tax duplicate for Montgomery county, Ohio. Instead it was the 1830 tax duplicate. I remember now that I did the 1830 docket book specifically because I wanted it as a tool to weigh against the 1830 census. I found people, as I suspected I would, who were not listed in the 1830 census. Actually quite a few as this docket book also includes non-land owners. I have the 1827 tax duplicate on my mind because I have it in my computer to be processed. I have kept the number in my head and thus was the error made when designing the DVD cover. My apologies for the error. Since several people have contacted me in regard to the DVD donated to the Brethren Heritage Center I have created a sample of the pages from what was donated to them by Mr. Pancner. You can find this sample file at 1830 Tax <http://www.brethrenarchives.com/montgomery/tax/1830/1830tax.pdf> Duplicate. The ability to print the file has been turned off. Since I deleted most of the pages not all the links will work. The only township clickable link that works is that for Madison township. If you click on the "B" below "Index" it will take you to that page. However, if you click on the little plus sign next to the "B" down will drop three entries. Click on the "Boyd - Byers" link which will direct you to that page in the index. In the third column near the bottom is a listing for David Bussard/Buzzard. Click on the number "2" which will direct you to that page of the book. Wayne Webb
Morning Fellow List Members, With your indulgence I must say this email is not genealogical in nature. However it may be of interest in a general way. The Internet links below will direct you to a set of files that represent a cover for a DVD that I have generated for the Brethren Heritage Center <http://www.brethrenheritagecenter.org/> of Brookville, Ohio. Thru the kind donation of Dr. Ron Pancner of Indiana this DVD, with the accompanying PDF file, was donated to the Center last fall. The PDF file contains archival quality images of the 1827 Tax Duplicate for Montgomery county, Ohio. The PDF file is fully searchable and thus a great tool for researchers. Please visit them and utilize these materials as your visit will be a joyful and fruitful occasion. However, the aesthetics of the DVD and the case in which it was supplied leaves a lot to be desired. To that end I have taken the past several days and "freshened" them up. I am now nearly finished and wanted to share the image with you, my fellow list members. I do hope you enjoy it. This DVD, and others, will replace those presently available for use at the Center. The other records donated to the Center contained the PDF files of the 1883 thru 1887 Gospel Messenger. This was the main voice of the Church of the Brethren of that time and era. If you visit the two links, one a larger file and the other smaller, you will see the DVD cover I designed. They are both the same image, one for those of you with dial-up and those with fast Internet. You need to visualize making a fold near the middle like a little booklet. The larger (DVD <http://www.brethrenarchives.com/montgomery/DVD_covera.jpg> cover (1.7meg) and the smaller (DVD <http://www.brethrenarchives.com/montgomery/DVD_cover.jpg> cover (500kb), I know are not genealogical or historical in nature, but they sure were fun to create! A lot of imagery and creative work! Wayne Webb
