Abstracts From The North-West Democrat Vol.1 No.6,Saturday August 10,1856 Savannah,Andrew County,Missouri The house of Mrs. Brumfield,in this city,was struck by lightening,on Saturday last.It was struck at the point of the comb,running down the studding,tearing the weather boarding off and breaking all the windows,but fortunately,the house was vacant a short time since,and no damage was done to life. The directors of the Rail Road from Savannah to the Iowa line,are to meet in this City,on the 3rd Saturday to organize and transact such business as may be deemed of advantage to a speedy contruction of that beneficial enterprise. ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE:Andrew County Court,Letters of administration,estate of George S. Scott,deceased.Samuel M. Scott,Adm'r ANDREW COUNTY PROBATE COUERT:Thomas Collins,Administrator of estate of John Collins,deceased,petitions court for sale of real estate belonging to deceased. There are in the County at least 1700 legal voters-yet about 1500 of them voted. STATE VS HARDESTY:On last Monday,a called term of Circuit Court was had to try the above case;but owing to the informality of the bill found by the Grand Jury,the case was dismissed.Hardesty was immediately arrested,and a re-examination was commenced before Justice Collier,which resulted in his commitment in fault of 5,000 dollar bale.
