Cause I think that my gr gr grandoarents are John Woods & Vienna Herrick in Patroit, Switzerland County, Indiana, 1850 census. Vienna Herrick, mother was Alice Wade. John Woods, I think was born in Virginia between 1809 & 1813. And their son Frank Woods is my gr grandfather and I think he dropped the (s) off the name, when he came to Missouri, but not real sure when he did dropped the (s) ?
