You don't know what a MONUMENTAL service you have done for the descendants of the man we in Tennessee and Kentucky know as Matthew Massengale JR (you know as SR) and his son Matthew "Stump" Massengale (III - whom you know as JR). My husband is a direct descendant of Matthew SR > Matthew JR > Matthew "Stump" > William Matthew. You have quite literally provided the missing pieces of our puzzle, and there will be quite a lot to talk about in the weeks to come. I stayed up until 3 a.m. last night transcribing the probate records, which were sent to me courtesy of a mutual internet acquaintance. I do not have your branch of the family, and you do not have mine, but I think we're about to rectify that.
