I do not know where they lived for the 13 years between marriage and birth of Oscar. I do not know when or where they died. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give. Jonathan was supposed to have been born in England and Julia was born in Michigan to Peter & Julia (McArther) Moe. I was told that Julia died in 1899 somewhere in Nodaway Co.

I believe they lived in Nodaway County in the 1860s with two children being born there in 1866 and 1868. The wife/mother Caroline (Lockard) Conner disappears shortly after that date. The husband/father and children are found in the 1870 census of Page Co, IA living with his in-laws Hugh and Ann Lockard. I will be in Nodaway County next week. Are cemetery and other records available at a local county Library? Is there a genealogical society in the County and if so, where are there records? hours? Thanks for your direction.

Surnames: STEREN AND LEIDY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BMB.2ACE/1171.1 Message Board Post: Hi again! This connection with you truly is a joy!!! Your great grandmother, Emma Steren Leidy, was my paternal aunt. I knew her when I was a little girl. She was married to Thomas Leidy who would have been your great grandfather. They had a son, Thomas Leidy, Jr. who we knew as "Bud".. Emma and Thomas Leidy also had a daughter, Alberta Leidy Johnson born in Clyde, MO. Alberta had five children I believe, but I don't know their names. Perhaps one was Betty Ann Leidy? There were two other daughters that may have been adopted, but this is unclear. There also was a Helen Leidy who died at the young age of 3 years due to diptheria. I visited your great grandmother and the family in 1947 or so. I was about 8 years old and I remember their house being located adjacent to the town cemetery. What fun it was to roam the cemetery during one of those tremendous thunder storms. It was on the 4th of July when we visited and we had a big family picnic. Your great grandmother, who was my Dad's sister, was a very sweet woman. She had a pretty hard life but she was always so caring for everyone. I remember how sad my Dad was when we learned she had passed away (sometime in the early 1970's I think). My Dad (Emma Leidy's brother) was John Raymond Steren and he married Violet Leonore (Hammons) Steren in 1921. My folks came to California in 1933. We have much to share regarding the family. Please contact me directly at: joyclevenger@cox.net I live in California...born and raised here. I hope you have or had a wonderful trip. Did you go for pleasure or did you combine some family history research with it? Can't wait for your response. I would love to have some photos. I am not sure if I have any of the Leidy's or not. I'll check. Take care,

I have been looking for you for awhile now. Yes, my name is Cal Sale, and we are first cousins, I think, however, I don't know how the half brother thing fits in... Your grandmother, Mary Jane Houston-Bashor-Warnick was my gggrandmother. Your father was a half brother to my great grandmother. My great grandmother was Cordelia Bashor, dau. of Mary Jane Houston and Benjamin Bashor. Yes, they did live on a farm south of Alva, Oklahoma. James and Cordelia moved to Alva in 1924, just a year before James Sale died. Cordelia died in 1932. They are buried in Pleasant View Cemetery near Dacoma. I have been looking for you for about a year, but had run into a dead end. I was also looking for your Uncle Dallas' family, but had run into dead ends in California. Questions that I have been trying to answer are: Where are Dallas and Estella buried? My dad always talk alot about Dallas. He liked Dallas alot. Unfortunately, my dad passed away last October. He would have been excited that I had gotten it touch with you. I have a picture of Charles holding a coronet, did he play in a band? I also have a picture that is either Dallas or Charles, but I need you to ID it. I also have some photo's I believe are of Mary Jane Warnick and Emma Bashor, but need your help in identifying those. The last time the family had any contact with each other was in the 1930's or 40's. We were just up to your dads grave two weeks ago. We had a family reunion in St. Joseph and I took my Aunts and Uncles on a tour which included Weathermon Cemetery and the old Warnick homesites. They really enjoyed the tour. They had lived in St. Joseph all there lives and not known any specifics about the Warnick/Bashor family. My email address is Kmikes1066@aol.com.
