I just returned from a three week "geneology" vacation trip through AZ, OK, KY, MO, OR ... and back to the concrete jungle of southern CA :/ while I was visiting the historical society in Maryville, I located the obit of my 3rd gr. gr'dpa Rev. Thomas Riley Hedgpeth in the Nodaway Democrate dated March 31 1887 ... it mentions that he died one day last week near Fairfax, Atchison county ... his remains were taken to Saulsbury, MO for interment ... he was a minister of the M. E. Church South ... the question is, where is Saulsbury or where was it, if it no longer exist ? ? ? I have a note here in my files that his wife Eliza Jane (Elliott) was also buried in this town also ... she died in 1917 at St Joseph, MO I am not too sure if the town name was miss spelled and they meant Salisbury over in Chariton county ... but that seems like a long distant to transfer a body for burial back in those days ... and I have no knowledge of the family having any connection in Chariton county over 150 miles from Maryville area .... anyone know where this ghost town might have been located ? Reynolds. He married Elizabeth A. Johnson, the daughter of Levi Riley and Mary Jane (Minard) Johnson on October 8, 1871 in Nodaway County, MO. I think he may have been the son of Howard and Jane Reynolds, from census records I have found. In 1875, a daughter named Amelia was born to Elizabeth, but we don't know whether she was a Reynolds or not. She is listed in the 1880 census with Elizabeth and her second husband, James Daniels, who Elizabeth married in 1879. Amelia is listed with the Daniels name in this census. I have found one marriage in Nodaway County, MO in 1881 for a Z.T. Reynolds who married Hannah Fountain. After that I can find nothing else. Is anyone familiar with Zachariah? I would like to trade information. Thank you very much. Cathy Dennee Johnson Utopia, TX

http://www.rootsweb.com/~monodawa/cemeteries/maps/whiteclo.htm has a map. When you get to the Arkoe road, you turn west (the opposite direction from Arkoe) and go not quite 1/2 mile then turn north (right) and go 1/2 mile north, then turn left and go about a mile to the intersection and it should be on the south side of the road near the intersection. There are dirt roads that you could take going without having to make all the jogging back and forth but with all of the rain we have had I wouldn't try the dirt roads. After Eli died the family moved to Quincy in Adams County, Illinois. James was born in 1869 in Illinois. I don't know if this is the same James as your ancestor. I don't believe our line, (from Thomas), has the bible you are speaking about. When my aunt Clara Hudson Doran passed on I inherited her box of genealogy notes and papers and there wasn't a Bible included. There are a ton of Wilsons in there and lots of them with just first initials so you will need to take a look at it and wade thru them. I did see Julia and Oscar listed so probably your Jonathan is one with initials. You can purchase a copy of the book on the Nodaway County Genweb site or possibly get it thru inter-library loan. Seems like I saw exerpts online too.......maybe on the Nodaway genweb site. Good luck, Karren A.
