Please send it and let me know who did this, when it was done, and who people can write to to get in touch with you. I have a list of the Nov 2004 deaths in the county. I think I'll put that on so that people can see what I'm talking about. However, cemetery copy is always great because people away from here really appreciate it. Pat

The FamilyHart Online Database was recently updated bringing over 406,000 linked names online. Thousands of these names are from Missouri. Many are of Pennsylvania Dutch extraction (Swiss/German). Names from most counties of Missouri can be found. Many can be found in the Cape Girardeau area, the Wayne County area, the Nodaway County area and in the Saint Louis area. The database is indexed and can be found at: _http://midatlantic.rootsweb.com/familyhart/_ (http://midatlantic.rootsweb.com/familyhart/) or midatlantic.rootsweb.com/familyhart > < Thanks! This list would have the name of the person, birthdate, deathdate, where died/or a resident of, and the name of the cemetery. If you get a county newspaper, and have time to clip and file the obituaries, have time to provide copies of obituaries for those who write (fees would be up to you), and would like to do this -- please let me know. At the end of the year, this could perhaps be photocopied and placed in a local library for others to use. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Pat O'Dell

I have also found Sarah E Williamson wife of Joseph Williamson in Green township Nodaway in the 1880 census. Emory Smith and Lucy appear in the 1870 census of Green township. Can anyone tell me more about the Williamson family? I believe Sarah E. is Sarah Emma Smith...Emory and Lucy have 3 children listed in 1870...Emma, Delphena, and Fremont my great grandfather. Also I am interested in any Swartz in Nodaway... as well as Lucy...a later generation on the family tree married Dale Swartz. Ruth Linville married Dale Swartz, she was the daughter of Maude Pearl Sharp and Grover Cleveland Linville, Maude Pearl Sharp was the daughter of George Sharp and Mary Harris, George was a brother in law to Fremont Smith. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

It's kind if a long story but I'll do my best. I just recently started doing this genealogy thing. My grandmother had a somewhat tough life not to close of a family. She is a twin and has one older sister and one older brother. Their mother (my great grandmother) was Sylvia Maines, well her maiden was Maines. She too was a twin her twin was Golda Maines I just tracked her down I guess her married name became Ault. They were born in Missourie in 1898. They had a brother Clarence Maines born in MO Their mothers maiden was listed as MC Clain on the SS index. Clarence had a son he died i think around ten years ago he named his son Theodore. Sylvia my great grandmother was admittedly flakey she died before I was born. My grandmother could never be certain that she was told the truth but the rumor was that Clarence, Sylvia, and Golda's mother died during childbirth. Golda Ault is on an ancestry family tree. Clarence maines mother maiden l! isted as McClain is on the SS index. Sylvia Maines's married name is Bonner she is on the SS too. I am trying to figure out who their parents were. In my research I keep running into St. Joseph Buchanan MO and Nodoway MO. If any of this sounds remotely familiar could you let me know? Thanks, Tracy Renner

The children were orphaned ca. 1828, and David went to live with his aunt, Polly Stephenson in Carrollton, Mo. It is not known if Sadie went there also, or not. David married Louisa Griffith, in 1856 in Nodaway County. David and Sadie may have been related to President Andrew Jackson and his wife, Rachel Donelson Jackson. Surnames: Hess, Marshall, Gibson, Higgins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BMB.2ACE/1196 Message Board Post: have a request that involves 3 counties, Nodaway, Worth and Gentry. I am trying to figure out if Mary Hess, living in J J Gibson's 1880 Worth county household is related to the Marshall family living in that same county-1870 through 1880. In addition, I know that Mary Marshall was married to Paulus Hess in Nodaway county, in October 1876. There is a Marshall couple living there(Nodaway county) that I think she might have been living with before her marriage. They were Frank and Louisa(Louise) Marshall. They moved to Racine Wisconsin after 1870 and before 1880. I have found them to have had a son c. 1879 in Wisconsin. That son was Everette. (NOTE: my grandmother, Mary Alice Marshall Higgins, had a daughter Lulu, a son Everette and one named Frank. That is why I think there is strong evidence that this is the Uncle she was living with before her marriage-what I now know to be her first marriage to Paulus Hess). I believe this Mary Marshall, to be my great grandmother, Mary Alice Marshall Higgins. Frank Marshall states that his father was born in Pa, his mother Ohio(later on New Jersey) and that he was born in Ohio. I haven't been able to find him before 1870, anywhere. The second family that I am interested in is the Robert Marshall family that was from originally Perry co., Ohio(up to 1858 or so), then first was living in Gentry county(c. 1860), but ended up in Worth county--living several miles away from JJ Gibson. I believe Robert and his wife, Sarah, died between 1870 and 1880, where I find his son, Watson, living in what I presume to be their family farm. There son, Joseph R Marshall, is living between Watson and J J Gibson, in the same general area. I was wondering if any one out there is researching this Marshall family? I have yet been able to fit Frank Marshall into the Robert Marshall family, but if my family history that was told to me was correct, and these are my kin-then they should be connected in some way. We were always told that Mary Alice Marshall, was born in October 1861. Her father died shortly before or after in the civil war and that her mother died around 1865. She was subsequently raised first by her grandmother, then an Aunt. I think that Frank and Louise Marshall are her aunt and uncle, but have strong suspicions that Robert and Sarah should be her grandparents. If the story was accurate. If anyone is researching any of these families, please write to at sdwillia@mcmsys.com or respond to the website. It should be noted that I think J J Gibson, is my great grandfather, J J Higgins. I believe they married c. 1881 or and moved to Mercer county, Missouri around that time. My oldest great uncle, Berthold Higgins, was born in Lineville, Iowa in April 1882. Thanks so much, Susan Williams

There were so many Massengale with the same first names. So I guess we will have to just believe what we do because from what the probate records say I have to believe William Riley Massngale was the grandson of Mathew Massengale Sr. who died in Nodaway County, Missouri. You probably also will probably believe the same thing about your. So I guess we will have to leave it at that. I should get back to looking for our Randall family.
