He died 17 May, 1916, near Wathena, Ks. He and his family were on the 1870 Nodaway Co. Census and lived in Polk Township. He married Louisa Temple Griffith, on 21 September, 1856, in Nodaway County.She was the daughter of Joel and Jane B. Jackson Griffith, was shown as Temple Stephenson on the census. Am trying to establish who David's parents were and whether or not he had a sister named Sadie. Nothing known on Sadie regarding when she was born, or if she ever married. David's death certificate revealed no information regarding his parents. Am trying to establish his relationship to any of the other Stephenson families who have lived in Nodaway at various times. David & Louisa were my gr-gr-grandparents.Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dennis.

Census, with a Maryville address. David, age 27, Temperance, his wife, age 26, and children, Jesse, age 6, Edward, age 4, and Jane, age 2. David was the only person born in Kentucky, with the rest shown as Missouri born. Does anyone have information as to who David's parents and/or siblings were? Also, would like to know the maiden name of Temperance and information about her parents and/or siblings. My gr-gr-grandfather was also David Stephenson, and he and his spouse, Louisa Temple Griffith Stephenson lived in Nodaway County, in 1870. His son, Homer Carl Cross was my Grandfather. As you may know, John Wesley Cross died at the age of 87 in 1942. For a time he lived with my grandfather in Nebraska. My grandfather was a section foreman on the C.B.&Q. railroad and lived in a number of locations in Nebraska before retiring in Milford, NE. Homer Carl Cross died on December 18, 1979, at the age of 87. I believe that John Wesley Cross lived with several of his children in his later years. As you probably also know, his wife divorced him and he never remarried. I am curious as to which of my grandfather's siblings was your grandparent. I currently live in York, Nebraska, where I am the county attorney. Randy Stoll
