As each transcription is different it is not easy to compare. I would say that trying both would be useful to see which search method you prefer - you don't need a subscription to search, just to see the transcripts and original pages. Don't forget thegenealogist as well. They also have the census online. I tend to use Ancestry for census, FMP for other stuff and thegenealogist not at all because I don't get on with their search engine. I also use Ancestry for censuses, they now have the 1911 England one, not sure about the Wales as I haven't had occasion to look up anyone from there yet.
