Welcome Lyn, Although we know that every other person in Wales is a Jones, I'll once again post my Jones information.  My great-great grandfather was Philip Jones born about 1828 in Pontypool.  All I know about Philip's parentage is his father was a collier named John as indicated in the Sharon Chapel, Abergavenny,  church marriage records where Philip married Sarah Fear in 1856.   Sarah was born 1834 in Publow, Somerset.  Philip and Sarah had four children:  Samuel, Sarah, John and Mary Jane - all born in Ebbw Vale.  If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you.
