    3. I am presenting what may be my Morgan Family for your consideration. When William Morgan, my Great Grandfather, an emigree from Wales died in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Wednesday February 26,1890, his funeral was to take place at the residence of his brother John Morgan at 1307 Bingham Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, (USA). Then his Brother, John Morgan died on Saturday, January 30, 1915, at his residence, 1307 Bingham Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His Death Notice was a genealogists dream. It said he was from South Wales, it noted when the came to Pittsburgh and it named all of his siblings. They were; Mrs Catherine Davies of Pittsburg (the spelling of Pittsburgh at this time),. Mrs John (Mary) Beddow of Birmingham, Alabama (USA) and one brother, Morgan L Morgan of Chicago, Illinois (USA). A search on Ancestry for this family unit in the 1861 Census revealed the family of William & Ann Morgan living in the Parish of Bedwelty in the township of Monmouth, (RG9/4005 Folio 20 Page 2) with the following children; William, Daniel, Ellen, Catherine, John, Morgan and Ann. A check of this same family in the 1851 Census indicated the following; they were still in the Parish of Bedwelty, Village of Ebbw Vale and had the following children, William, Daniel, Eleanor, Catherine. Living with them was Thomas Morgan, Lodger and Mary Ann Morgan, on visit. (Piece 2448, Folio 693, Page 16). Looking at 1871 census to check out if this had been a lucky guess or fate, found William and Ann were down to three childrem still living in the Civil Parish of Bedwelty and Town of Ebbw Vale. (RG10/5325 Folio 5 Page 4) The children were John, Morgan and Mary Ann. It appears that about three weeks after they were enumerated they got on a ship to America. The ship was the Manhattan sailing from Liverpool on 29 April, 1871 and arriving in America's Castle Island reception station on 29 May, 1871. The remainder of this family, with the addition of a daughter, Lilly May is found in the 1880 US census living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 1307 Bingham Street. I looked at 1841 census without any positive conclusions. I am confident, to a reasonable conclusion, this is my ancesteral family. I have followed and researched this family in America to a suitable conclusion. Now I had to look towards Wales. I am reaching out for help. Especially with the places of birth for William and Ann. It is apparent they were born in Carmarthen but It is my understanding that parts of Carmarthen became added to Monmouth at some time. How does this effect Parish record searches ? The birth place for the children are more readable. Any and all help appreciated. David Zimmerman Howell, Michigan USA
