I am familiar with the Welsh tradition of the sons using the first letter of their mothers birth name as a middle initial. Does this tradition also extend to daughters using a middle name convention ?? My Great-Great Grandmother was born Ann Llewellyn but was always identified in records as Ann W Morgan. She was married to a William Morgan. Where might the W come from ?? Her sons used the L for a middle initial, e.g., William L Morgan, John L Morgan, etc. Dave Zimmerman Howell, Michigan USA
