AH, now that's the thing. Trecelyn is the welsh name for the place known in English as Newbridge, but the Welsh for New Bridge is... Pont Newydd. So Trecelyn doesn't 'mean' New Bridge it actually translates as something like "the house or home of Celyn". Please keep in mind that the old county of Monmouthshire is a border county so is more anglicised than the rest of Wales. There is also the factor of the Herefordshire/Goucestershire accent to add to the mix while keeping the best bits of Welsh.
