    3. Hello Andrew, Thank you for the information, I have received an answer from Barbara that I could not find All Saints in 1891 because the church was not erected until 1898 on Brynglas Road Newport and became an Ecclesiastical Parish February 2nd 1899. In the 1901 Census I have found a John Moseley b.c. 1867 in Newport together with wife Maria b.c. 1870 in Bristol living at 29 Shaftesbury Street, Parish of All Saints St Woolos Newport. I have tried all the searches I know in the 1891 census on Ancestry, including just searching for anyone born Bristol living in Monmouthshire. John and Maria's Eldest daughter was born in Newport in 1891, so I think they are living in Newport, John and Maria were married in Newport Mar qrt 1887. Are there any indexes missing in 1891? Regards, Ian Ian My relatives come from that area and I had no problems. If I enter St Woollos into the civil district and search on Ancestry.com then I get all the references ok. This sounds like a problem with the search engine! Andrew

    3. Ian I have relatives in the 1851 census and their 'civil Parish or township' is listed as 'St Woollos' so I suspect that while it did not become an ecclesiastical parish until later it was still a civil parish for the purposes of the census. I can't really comment on the quality of the census information but I have found people on one census search engine that were not found on a different one! I can only suggest that you go back to the microfich census records and scan through that particular area and address. Good luck Andrew -----Original Message----- From: monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Ian Moseley Sent: 10 February 2007 13:32 To: monmouthshire@rootsweb.com Subject: [MON] was All Saints Parish Newport now John and Maria Moseley Hello Andrew, Thank you for the information, I have received an answer from Barbara that I could not find All Saints in 1891 because the church was not erected until 1898 on Brynglas Road Newport and became an Ecclesiastical Parish February 2nd 1899.
