Jane, As I recall, it was more than a year ago that, in response to an inquiry about the CROFTSand TOPPINS, I received an e-mail from a man who wrote that he lived near Llanhilleth. He stated that the prior name was Lanthil. I have no other source. I obtained the data about Frances Toppin from the 1851 census for the Parish of Bedwellty. Perhaps that is available to you.
