I'm looking for info about George Henry Johnson was born 5 Dec, 1882. 12 Fisher Road, Birkdale, U.S.D. I have no idea what the U.S.D. and I don't know if address is place of birth or a later residence, but it's a place to start The newly discovered note is attached to a map which shows a Birkdale about half way between Liverpool and Blackpool on the west coast of England I've just started to become brave enough to try researching British records which, from my home in Canada, always appeared to be like a black hole. From what I can tell, most British info is organized by county, so even getting a county name for this location would be a start. Then with names of his siblings and parents, maybe I can tie it all together with some census info -- Brian Johnson, P. U.S.D stands for Urban Sanitary District - the forerunner of the local councils that we have here today.
