    3. East Monmouth Local Militia Tuesday s'ennight having been appointed for the assembling of the above corps, at Monmouth, to take the sense of the regiment respecting the extension of their service to Government at this important period, the whole arrived there in the course of that day. On Wednesday they met at the field, when Major-General MOLYNEAUX, their commanding officer, explained to them the motives for which they were called together, and required them to express their wishes whether or not they were willing to accede to the proposals of his Majesty's Ministers. We are happy to state, that 400 fine fellows declared their readiness to step forward by hand and repeated huzzas. They afterwards paraded the town with colours and military music, as proof of their cordial desire to co-operate with other corps for the general good of the kingdom. In the evening, copious libations were offered o he success of our brave army and its allies on the Continent; and on Thursday they all peaceably returned home. The sums which have been paid by the clerks of sub-division meetings of Lieutenancy, in England, into the Bank, on account of fines for the Local Militia, already amount to 182.663d. 11s. this sum has been applied to the general purposes of the Local Militia, in diminution of the ? required for that service.
