Hello Carol, Have you obtained birth certificates for Joseph and John, by doing so this would assist you further in knowing the maiden name of Mary plus the children's fathers name. I located a Mary Davies on the 1851 Census living still in Tredegar as she was in 1861, but her husbands name was Jonah both of them recorded as born in Carmarthenshire, where Mary was born in 1837.
