    3. You can search many items in the 'Cambrian' at www.swansea.gov.uk/cambrian . The paper started in 1804 and all BMDs and many items from all over Wales were indexed from that date. At some point in the history of the Cambrian Indexing project, which has run over a number of years/decades, a decision was made to limit indexing of adverts and news stories to those with specific reference to West Glamorgan (apart from some all-Glamorgan references like the County Asylum). All BMD notices are indexed, and some BMD notices from other papers after 1890s are in there. The newspaper itself changed in character over the years, from one with circulation over gentry and business classes across Wales to more of a local newspaper for Swansea and Neath, with a declining proportion of articles about Cardiff, Carmarthen and further afield. I am happy to answer queries about the Cambrian off list. Jeff volunteer on the Cambrian Indexing Project. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Williams bcs" <peter.williams@bcs.org> To: <monfh@yahoogroups.com>; <MONMOUTHSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 24, 2007 12:52 PM Subject: Re: [MON] MON Family History Deaths The Cambrian 4 Oct 1834Brecknell, Swann, Stphens > Lyn, > > Thanks for all these posts from the Cambrian.
