Many male children were still wearing "frocks" ( smocks) until they were about five years of age up to 1920's after which they were "breeched" into trousers. This was common in working class homes. You do not state the approximate ages of the children. I have a photo of my Uncle dressed in a "dress". Smock? Taken in 1917. www.batesplace.co.uk -----Original Message----- From: monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Paula Payne Sent: 08 August 2007 17:19 To: monmouthshire@rootsweb.com Subject: [MON] Help need with photo I have an old school photo that I am trying to date.
