I have started to research my uncles family and have got back to a John HOWELL a labourer born about 1783 at St Arvans and his wife Margaret born about 1779 at Llansoy, Monmouthshire and son John a shoe maker born about 1809 at St Arvans and another son George born about 1816 St Arvans, there are probably a lot more children but at this time I am interested in John who's wife was Mary born about 1802 at Swansea and they had among others Alfred born 18 Apr 1834 at St Arvans and who became a locomotive driver. Alfred married Jane JOHN born about 1838 at Cardiff and among others they had John William HOWELL a Loco Fireman who was born Nov Quarter of 1859 at Cardiff and married Frances Emily WILLIAMS born about 1862 at Cardiff, they had among others a Frances Emily HOWELLS born Sep Quarter 1891 who married 24 Dec 1915 at Cardiff Register Office my uncle Robert Leonard BROWN who was born Sunderland, County Durham, England 1887. As well as loving to hear from any relatives of these families I would be grateful to find out if there are any Baptist records that I could find for St Arvans area in the 1700s. Cheers. Wilf BROWN
