Why not get on to the FOrest of dean web-site for help with your Lydney ancestor www.forest-of-dean.net Sylvia From: "Jeff Coleman" <jeff.coleman@ntlworld.com> Reply-To: monmouthshire@rootsweb.com To: <monmouthshire@rootsweb.com>, <sandra.evans3@ntlworld.com> Subject: Re: [MON] Williams and Worgan help Date: Sun, 26 Aug 2007 22:37:02 +0100 Birth in December quarter 1895 of WILLIAMS Emily Dorothy in Toxteth Park registration district (now part of Liverpool) ref 8b 173. If this was the right one, she was only 15 when she married , and not yet 16 when she died. The young age may have contributed to death in childbirth. There is an Emily WILLIAMS age 5 in 1901 with mother Dorothy in Everton 1901, but father was James, a bottle washer. RG13; Piece: 3480; Folio: 88; Page: 43 Somebody has put an Emily Dorothy WILLIAMS b 1891 Liverpool on a personal family tree on Ancestry, shown as Nash family tree. What was the age and occupation of John George WORGAN on the marriage certificate? Where was he in 1901? He does not seem to have been at home with his widowed grandmother and Eva, born 1898 in Tredegar, if that is the right family. RG13; Piece: 4937; Folio: 35; Page: 20 There was a John Geo. WORGAN aged 8 in 1891 in Alvington, Gloucestershire between Chepstow and Lydney, then a significant port. If he became a mariner there could be a connection with a girl from Liverpool, but why come to Ebbw Vale in that case? I see that the 'Nash family tree' has Eva WORGAN as born Lydney 1893. and John George WORGAN as born 1859 in Gloucestershire. Some or all of this may have no connection to your puzzle. Just some ideas.
